Music.Film Recordings & Lakeshore Records have released a soundtrack album for the political thriller Backstabbing for Beginners. The album features the film’s original score composed by Todor Kobakov (The Samaritan, Tricksters, Cardinal, Born to Be Blue, Sweetness in the Belly, Most Dangerous Game). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Backstabbing for Beginners is co-written and directed by Per Fly and stars Theo James, Ben Kingsley and Jacqueline Bisset. The movie is based on a true story and follows an idealistic young employee working at the UN as he investigates the grisly murder of his predecessor and uncovers a vast global conspiracy that may even involve his own boss.

The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War directed by Joe & Anthony Russo and starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump). Opening in limited release is the romantic drama Disobedience co-written and directed by Sebastián Lelio and starring Rachel Weisz, Rachel McAdams and Alessandro Nivola. Matthew Herbert (Life in a Day) who previously scored the director’s Academy Award-winning feature A Fantastic Woman has composed the film’s original music. Todor Kobakov Scoring Per Fly’s ‘Backstabbing for Beginners’
Todor Kobakov is currently recording his score for the upcoming thriller Backstabbing for Beginners. The film is directed by Per Fly (The Inheritance, Monica Z) and stars Theo James, Ben Kingsley and Jacqueline Bisset. The movie follows a young idealist who lands his dream job as a program coordinator for the U.N.’s Oil for Food program and is thrown into a post-war Iraq where government agents and power-hungry nations are circling the country’s oil reserves. Fly also co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Pyne (The Manchurian Candidate, Fracture, The Sum of All Fears), inspired by Michael Soussan’s memoir of the same title.
