Premiering tomorrow, June 6, is the HBO limited series Irma Vep created and directed by Olivier Assayas based on his 1996 movie of the same name and starring Alicia Vikander, Vincent Macaigne, Jeanne Balibar, Lars Eidinger, Devon Ross, Vincent Lacoste, Adria Arjona, Nora Hamzawi, Carrie Brownstein, Byron Bowers and Tom Sturridge. The show’s original music is composed by Thurston Moore (Heavy). Premiering on Wednesday, June 8, is Marvel Studios’ Disney+ original series Ms. Marvel developed by Bisha K. Ali and starring Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur and Matt Lintz. Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, Paris Can Wait, Underground, Step, Set It Up, Why We Hate) has composed the show’s original music. First Songs from ‘P-Valley’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released

Lionsgate Records has released  the first songs from the second season of the Starz original series P-Valley. Available to stream/download now are the tracks Distance (P-Valley Remix) performed by by Jucee Froot feat. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and When I Get Out performed by J. Alphonse Nicholson as featured in the first episode of Season 2. Also listen to both songs after the jump. More songs from the new season will be released over the next couple of weeks and a full soundtrack album is expected to come out later this summer. Opening in around 800 U.S. theaters this weekend is the sci-fi horror movie Crimes of the Future written and directed by David Cronenberg and starring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Don McKellar, Welket Bungué, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos, Nadia Litz, Tanaya Beatty and Lihi Kornowski. The film’s original music is composed by Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Aviator, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo). Howe Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening semi-wide is the thriller Watcher directed by Chloe Okuno and starring Maika Monroe, Karl Glusman and Burn Gorman. Nathan Halpern (The Rider, Swallow, One Percent More Humid, Minding the Gap, In the Same Breath) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Neumeark Music has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Deep in the Heart. The album features the film’s original music composed by Noah Sorota (Falling Skies, Resident Alien, Unbranded, Reverie, Jinn, The Gracefield Incident). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Deep in the Heart is directed by Ben Masters, narrated by Matthew McConaughey and celebrates Texas’ diverse landscapes and wildlife while aiming to conserve its remaining wild places and recognize the importance of the state’s conservation on a continental scale. MUNA’s ‘Sometimes’ Cover from ‘Fire Island’ Released

Hollywood Records has released the cover version of Britney Spears’ Sometimes from the romantic comedy Fire Island. The track (originally written by Jorgen Elofsson) is produced and performed by the indie pop band MUNA and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. As previously reported, a full soundtrack album featuring Jay Wadley’s original score from the movie has also been released today. Fire Island is directed by Andrew Ahn and stars Joel Kim Booster, Bowen Yang, Zane Phillips, James Scully, Margaret Cho, Tomas Matos, Nick Adams, Matt Rogers, Conrad Ricamora and Torian Miller. Walt Disney Records has released the first track from the soundtrack from Pixar Animation Studios’ feature Lightyear. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Mission Perpetual composed by the film’s composer Michael Giacchino (Up, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman, Jurassic World).
