Expanded ‘Last Action Hero’ Score Album Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 fantasy action comedy Last Action Hero directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austin O’Brien, F. Murray Abraham, Art Carney, Mercedes Ruehl, Charles Dance, Frank McRae, Robert Prosky, Tom Noonan and Anthony Quinn. The album features the film’s expanded and remastered original score composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Michael Kamen (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, X-Men, The Three Musketeers, The Iron Giant), including around an hour of previously unreleased music. Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1953 sci-fi classic Invaders from Mars directed by William Cameron Menzies and starring Helena Carter, Jimmy Hunt and Arthur Franz. The film’s original score written by Raoul Kraushaar (who is the credited composer, while Mort Glickman is believed to be the actual composer) is being released as part of the label’s The Golden Age of Science Fiction – Vol. 5 , which also includes the first-ever release of the music from the 1967 British sci-fi movie The Terrornauts (directed by Montgomery Tully and starring Simon Oates & Zena Marshall) composed by Elisabeth Lutyens.
