Carl Davis has passed away at age 86. The composer has scored numerous films and TV shows over a six decade-spanning career. Among his best known scoring credits are Karel Reisz’s 1981 feature The French Lieutenant’s Woman (for which he received BAFTA’s Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music), BBC’s 1995 Pride and Prejudice mini-series starring Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle, Michael Caton-Jones’ 1989 feature Scandal, the 1973 documentary series World at War and John Irvin’s 1984 drama Champions and 1994 comedy Widow’s Peak. The details of the second soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ limited series Secret Invasion have been revealed. The album features selections of the original score from the final three episodes (4, 5 & 6) of the show composed by Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, Haunted MansionKing Richard, Chevalier, Space Jam: A New LegacyDear White People). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 4 by Marvel Music & Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Les Films Velvet has released a soundtrack album for the French adventure comedy Juniors. The album features the film’s original music composed by Francois Villevieille (Une comédie romantique) and Lionel Flairs (Crash Test Aglae) & Benoit Rault (Valiant Hearts) (for HiTnRuN). Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s Japanese Netflix original film Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Yoshiaki Dewa (Star Wars: Visions, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, Call of the Night). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is directed by Yûsuke Ishida and stars Eiji Akaso, Mai Shiraishi, Shuntaro Yanagi, Yui Ichikawa, Mayo Kawasaki and Akari Hayami. The zombie comedy is based on the manga series written by Haro Aso & illustrated by Kotaro Takata and revolves around a young man who has had life sucked out of him through his power-harassing boss and wakes up one day to a zombie apocalypse. Atlantic Records has released the original song Quiet from the Netflix original film Heart of Stone. The track is co-written (with Ori Rousso who also produced the song) and performed by Noga Erez and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. A full soundtrack album featuring Steven Price’s original score from the movie will be announced soon. Genie Music has released a soundtrack album for the South Korean sci-fi drama The Moon (Deo mun). The album features the film’s original music composed by Lee Jae-hak (Soar Into the Sun, 200 Pounds Beauty, Take Off). Also included is the movie’s title song by the composer, Haram feat. KiTak. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. The Moon is directed by Kim Yong-hwa and stars Sul Kyung-gu and Doh Kyung-soo. The movie is set seven years after Korea’s first fully manned mission to the moon ends in disaster and a second human spaceflight is launched successfully, until a strong solar wind causes the spacecraft to malfunction. Eric Slick has made his feature scoring debut on the upcoming thriller The Good Mother. The singer/songwriter and drummer of the rock band Dr. Dog has collaborated with director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte (Dreamland, As You Are) to compose the music for the film starring Hilary Swank, Olivia Cooke, Jack Reynor, Dilone and Hopper Penn. The movie follows a journalist grieving the murder of her son who forms an unlikely alliance with his pregnant girlfriend to track down the killers in the seedy world of drugs and corruption. The full details of the soundtrack album for the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds musical episode Subspace Rhapsody have been revealed. The album features the original songs from the ninth episode of the show’s second season written by Tom Polce and Kay Hanley (of the rock band Letters to Cleo) and performed by cast members including Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Paul Wesley, Melissa Navia, Dan Jeannotte, Babs Olusanmokun, Melanie Scrofano and Carol Kane. Also included a special version of Jeff Russo’s main title theme. The film is written and directed by Fennell and stars Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe and Alison Oliver.
