Premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Idol created by Sam Levinson & Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye (who also provided original music to the show, alongside Mike Dean) & Reza Fahim and starring The Weeknd himself, Lily-Rose Depp and Troye Sivan. Manish Raval & Tom Wolfe serve as the drama’s music supervisors. Republic Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs by The Weeknd & others later this month. Also premiering in the U.S. today is the British sci-fi series The Lazarus Project created by Joe Barton and starring Paapa Essiedu, Anjli Mohindra, Tom Burke and Caroline Quentin. Ben Lukas Boysen (Beat, The Collini Case) & Paul Emmerich are composing the show’s original music. SATV has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score last year when the drama premiered in the UK on Sky Max and NOW.
