ELA has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1999 Polish/French drama Pan Tadeusz co-written and directed by Andrzej Wajda and starring Bogusław Linda, Alicja Bachleda ,Grażyna Szapołowska, Michał Żebrowski, Marek Kondrat and and Andrzej Seweryn. The album features the film’s original score composed by Wojciech Kilar (Bram Stoker‘s Dracula, The Pianist, The Ninth Gate, The Portrait of a Lady, The Death and the Maiden). Also included is the song Soplicowo performed by Grzegorz Turnau and Stanislaw Soyka. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list (in French). Pan Tadeusz is based on Adam Mickiewicz’s poem of the same title and follows two feuding Polish families as they overcome their old conflicts and petty lives during Poland’s struggle for freedom just before Napoleon’s war with Russia. The movie, which opened in Poland and other European markets in 1999 received a limited theatrical release in the U.S. the following year and is currently available on DVD.
