Film Fest Gent has announced the new album Elliot Goldenthal – Music for Film featuring music by the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards, including all-new studio recordings of selected scores by the  composer performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by the festival’s music director Dirk Brossé. The album includes two new concert suites for his Academy Award-winning score from Julie Taymor’s Frida, The Grand Gothic Suite, which includes highlights from his Grammy-nominated score for Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever and his never commercially unreleased score for Batman & Robin, the suite Final Fantasia, which celebrates his music for Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and a suite from his score for David Fincher’s Alien 3. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy drama The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kathryn Bostic (ClemencyRita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It, Women of the MovementToni Morrison: The Pieces I AmHoliday Rush). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 23 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Gaumont will release a soundtrack album for the Belgian/French thriller Night Call (La nuit se traîne). The album features the film’s original music composed by TEPR (aka Tanguy Destable) who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Wednesday, August 28 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the French Netflix original film Nice Girls. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Erwann Chandon (Simon’s Got a Gift, Open Season, A Polar Year). Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Cody Fry has made his feature scoring debut on the upcoming fantasy adventure Sketch. The film is written and directed by Seth Worley and stars Tony Hale, D’Arcy Carden, Bianca Belle and Kue Lawrence. The movie, which is being described as reminiscent of family classics such as GremlinsJumanji & The Goonies revolves around a grieving family who has to band together to fight off a young girl’s peculiar drawings that come to life, leaving a wake of chaos and crayon dust. Disasterpeace (aka Rich Vreeland) (It Follows, Under the Silver Lake, Triple Frontier, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary Viktor. The film is directed by Olivier Sarbil (On the President’s Order) and centers on Viktor Korotovskyi, a young deaf man in Kharkiv, who lost his hearing at age five and is frustrated by his inability to defend his country when the war breaks out in Ukraine.
