Deborah Lurie is reuniting with director Lasse Hallstrom on the upcoming romance Safe Haven. The film is based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) and stars Josh Duhamel, Julianne Hough, David Lyons, Cobie Smulders and Noah Lomax. The movie centers on a young woman who struggles to find love again after she arrives in a small town in North Carolina, where her reluctance to join the community raises questions about her past. Dana Stevens (City of Angels, For the Love of the Game) and Les Bohem (Dante’s Peak) have written the screenplay and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter) and Temple Hill Entertainment’s Marty Bowen (Dear John) and Wyck Godfrey (Twilight series, I, Robot) are producing the project alongside Sparks. The film marks Lurie’s third film for the director following An Unfinished Life starring Robert Redford and the 2010 hit drama Dear John starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, which was also based on a novel written by Sparks. ‘In the House’ Soundtrack Details

Cristal Publishing will release a soundtrack album for Francois Ozon’s French thriller In the House (Dans la maison). The album features the film’s original score by the director’s regular musical collaborator Philippe Rombi (Swimming Pool, Potiche, Angel). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 8, 2012 in France. Click here to listen to audio clips from the score. No word yet on a domestic release of the soundtrack, but check back on this site for updates. In the House is written and directed by Ozon and stars Fabrice Luchini, Ernst Umhauer, Kristin Scott Thomas, Emmanuelle Seigner and Denis Menochet. The movie follows a professor and a student who comes to threaten the relationships of those around them. The film recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and has been picked up by Cohen Media Group for domestic distribution. A soundtrack album for Alain Resnais’ drama You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet (Vous n’avez encore rien vu) has been released overseas earlier this week. The album features the film’s original score written by Emmy-nominated composer Mark Snow (The X-Files, Smallville). To listen to audio clips, visit the French Amazon store. You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet marks Snow’s third collaboration with Resnais following Provate Fears in Public Places and Wild Grass. The French/German production stars Mathieu Amalric, Sabine Azéma, Anne Consigny and Lambert Wilson. The film follows a celebrated playwright who gathers together all his friends who have appeared over the years in his play Eurydice to watch a recording of the work performed by a young acting company. Tony Morales has been tapped to score the supernatural romance In Your Eyes. The film is directed by Brin Hill (screenwriter of Won’t Back Down) and written by The Avengers director Joss Whedon. The movie stars Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield) and Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks) as two people who live on opposite sides of the country, but are able to experience what the other is experiencing, despite being strangers. Mark Feuerstein, Jennifer Grey and Nikki Reed are co-starring. Whedon is producing the Bellwether Pictures production with Kai Cole (Much Ado About Nothing). ‘Bait 3D’ Soundtrack Released

MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records has released a soundtrack album for the Australian horror film Bait 3D. The album features the film’s score written by Singaporean composer Joe Ng and Alex Oh. The soundtrack is now available digitally on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Bait 3D is directed by Kimble Rendall and stars Xavier Samuel, Julian McMahon, Sharni Vinson and Phoebe Tonkin. Russell Mulcahy (Highlander, Resident Evil: Extinction) has co-written the screenplay with John Kim and is also executive producing the film. Todd Fellman (Daybreakers), Gary Hamilton and Peter Barbers are also producing the project. Andy Williams passed away Tuesday at his Branson, Mo., home at age 84 after suffering from bladder cancer. The American singer performed numerous songs for movies and collaborated with a number of film composers. Among his biggest hits was the Academy Award-winning song Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, which was written by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer. Williams also collaborated with Mancini on such films as Blake Edward’s 1962’s drama Days of Wine and Roses starring Jack Lemmon and 1964’s comedy Dear Heart starring Glenn Ford. The singer also performed the classic song Where Do I Begin? from Love Story with music by Francis Lai and lyrics by Carl Sigman. Read the rest of this entry »
Ólafur Arnalds Scoring ‘Gimme Shelter’

Ólafur Arnalds has recently recorded his score for the indie drama Gimme Shelter. The movie marks the directorial debut of video and commercials helmer Ron Krauss and stars Vanessa Hudgens as a pregnant, homeless teen who flees her abusive mother and moves to a shelter where she forms a family unit with other girls. Rosario Dawson, James Earl Jones, Ann Dowd, Stephanie Szostak and Brendan Fraser are co-starring. Krauss has also written the screenplay and is producing the film with Jeff Rice (The Watcher) and Joshua Amir. The Icelandic composer’s previous film credits include Another Happy Day starring Ellen Barkin, Ezra Miller and Ellen Burstyn. Scott’s Pictures has recently picked up worldwide rights for Gimme Shelter. No release date has been announced yet.
Expanded ‘Black Rain’ Soundtrack Announced

La-La Land Records has announced an expanded and remastered soundtrack release for Ridley Scott’s 1989 action thriller Black Rain starring Michael Douglas, Andy Garcia and Ken Takakura. The 2-CD set features the film’s original score composed by Hans Zimmer on one disc and the original 1989 album (which includes such songs as I’ll Be Holding On performed Gregg Allman, Livin’ on the Edge of the Night by Iggy Pop and The Way You Do the Things You Do by UB 40), as well as a number of bonus tracks on the second disc. The album features the film’s original music composed and arranged by Joey Newman (The Middle) and Chris Westlake (Transit). Silva Screen Records has announced the details of the score album for the Starz original series Magic City. The album features selections from the score of the first season of the series composed by Daniele Luppi (Assassination of a High School President, Hellride). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 2, 2012. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next week. As previously reported, the label has also released a soundtrack featuring the songs from the drama. Magic City created by Mitch Glazer and starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olga Kurylenko, Jessica Marais and Steven Strait premiered this spring on Starz and has already been renewed for a second season to air in early 2013.
