Tree Adams has recently composed the score for the upcoming drama Reach Me. The movie is directed by John Herzfeld (15 Minutes, 2 Days in the Valley) and stars Sylvester Stallone, Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Berenger, Kevin Connolly, Thomas Jane, Kelsey Grammer, Nelly, Danny Aiello, Terry Crews, Lauren Cohan, Elizabeth Henstridge, Cary Elwes, Ryan Kwanten, David O’Hara and Omari Hardwick.. The film follows a group of very different people connected by a self-help book written by a reclusive football coach whose lives intertwine and eventually collide. Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of the bestselling novel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the film, including the original song Atlas by Coldplay. Click here for the full album details. The movie’s original score is composed by James Newton Howard. The label will also release a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score next Tuesday, November 25. Also opening wide is the comedy drama Delivery Man written and directed by Ken Scott and starring Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt, Cobie Smulders, Britt Robertson and Jack Reynor. The film’s original score is composed by Jon Brion (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Magnolia, This is 40). No word yet on soundtrack release. Delivery Man is a remake of Scott’s 2011 film Starbuck and follows a man who is informed that he has fathered 533 children via sperm donations he made twenty years earlier. Henry Jackman, Bear McCreary, Jeff Beal, David Schwartz and Benjamin Wallfisch Win Hollywood Music in Media Awards

Last night, the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMAA) were handed out at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Henry Jackman was awarded for his score for Paul Greengrass’ critically acclaimed box office hit Captain Phillips in the Best Original Score – Feature Film category. Bear McCreary was honored for his main titles theme for AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead and accepted his award in person. Also attending the ceremony was Benjamin Wallfisch who received an award in the Best Song/Score – Special Feature category for his score for the British period drama Summer in February, which will open in the U.S. in January. American Laundromat Records has announced a tribute album to director Wes Anderson. The double-CD set, entitled I Saved Latin! features artists such as Black Francis, Mike Watt & the Secondmen, Juliana Hatfield, Joy Zipper, Kristin Hersh, Grand Hallway, Escondido, Elk City, Matt Pond, PHOX, Santah, Tea Cozies, Solvents, William Fitzsimmons and Telekinesis covering songs featured the filmmaker’s features The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Bottle Rocket. ‘Nashville’ Season 2 – Volume 1 Soundtrack Announced

Big Machine Records, ABC Studios and Lionsgate have announced the first soundtrack album for the second season of the ABC drama Nashville. The album is produced by Buddy Miller who took over from T Bone Burnett as the executive music producer of the series for the second season and features songs from the show’s cast including Connie Britton (Rayna Jaymes), Hayden Panettiere (Juliette Barnes), Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Clare Bowen (Scarlett O’Connor), Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott), Jonathan Jackson (Avery Barkley), Chris Carmack (Will Lexington), Aubrey Peeples (Layla Grant), Chaley Rose (Zoey Dalton), sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella (Maddie & Daphne Conrad), Will Chase (Luke Wheeler) and more. WAZ to Score Fox’s ‘Surviving Jack’

WAZ is scoring the upcoming Fox comedy Surviving Jack. The show is created by Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker ($#*! My Dad Says) and stars Christopher Meloni, Connor Buckley, Rachael Harris, Claudia Lee, Kevin Hernandez and Tyler Foden. The series based on Justin Halpern’s autobiographical book I Suck at Girls is set in 1990s Southern California and follows an ex-military man and no-nonsense guy who becomes a full-time parent when his wife decides to go to law school. Halpern and Schumacker are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and Doozer production with Bill Lawrence (Spin City, Scrubs) and Jeff Ingold WAZ is best known as a singer/songwriter and for his solo records. ‘Khumba’ Soundtrack Details

Labelzero will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Khumba. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruce Retief who previously scored last year’s Zambezia for South Africa’s Triggerfish Animation Studio. Khumba marks Triggerfish’s second 3D animated feature and is directed by Anthony Silverston. The movie’s voice talent includes Jake T. Johnny Klimek is set to score the upcoming crime thriller Kill Me Three Times. The film is directed by Kriv Stenders (Red Dog) and stars Simon Pegg, Alice Braga, Luke Hemsworth, Teresa Palmer, Bryan Brown, Sullivan Stapleton and Callan Mulvey. The movie’s story is being told from three different points of view and follows a mercurial professional assassin in a sundrenched Australian surfing town who is hired to kill the singer wife of a wealthy man. James McFarland has written the screenplay and Laurence Malkin & Share Stallings (Death at a Funeral, A Few Best Men) are producing the project with former film industry administrator Tania Chambers. ‘I, Frankenstein’ Score Album Details

Lakeshore Records will release the official score album for the action thriller I, Frankenstein. The album features the film’s original music written by Golden Globe-nominated composers Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil (Cloud Atlas, One Hour Photo, The International). Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator) has also contributed additional music for the movie. The soundtrack will be released on January 21, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. I, Frankenstein is written and directed by Stuart Beattie and stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young. The movie is based on the graphic novel of the same title by Kevin Grevioux and centers on Frankenstein’s monster Adam, who has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation and is being pursued by demons wanting to gain the secret of his reanimated corpse.
