Greg Kurstin is composing original music for the upcoming musical comedy drama Annie. The film is directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits) and stars Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Amanda Troya, Eden Duncan Smith, Nicolette Pierini and Zoe Colletti. The movie is based on the Broadway classic of the same title and is set in the present day in New York. Emma Thompson has penned the screenplay, which was rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, We Bought a Zoo) and revised by Gluck. The details of the soundtrack album for the action comedy sequel 22 Jump Street have been revealed. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Angel Haze feat. Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, Duck Sauce, Tiësto, Blind Scuba Divers, Nacey, Shermanology, Travis Barker and more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 10, 2014 and physically on June 24 by Casablanca Records. The CD version is now available for pre-order on Amazon. 22 Jump Street is directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and stars Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ice Cube, Peter Stormare, Craig Roberts, Amber Stevens and Wyatt Russell. CBS Records will release the first soundtrack album for the critically acclaimed CBS drama The Good Wife. Alec Puro has signed on to score the upcoming ABC comedy Manhattan Love Story. The show is created by Jeff Lowell (John Tucker Must Die, Spin City) and stars Analeigh Tipton, Jake McDorman, Nicolas Wright, Jade Catta-Preta, Chloe Wepper and Kurt Fuller. The series exposes the unfiltered internal monologues of a young couple embarking on a new relationship. Lowell is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Peter Traugott (Samantha Who?), Robin Schwartz, Rachel Kaplan and Jon Liebman (Ringer). Hans Zimmer, Pharell Williams & Woodkid to Compose Music for JR’s Next Film Project

French artist JR has announced on Instagram (via Complex) that Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Woodkid will be composing the music for his next film project. No details of the movie have been announced yet. Woodkid has previously collaborated with JR on the ballet Les bosquets. Zimmer and Williams have most recently worked together on the soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as Williams’ record G I R L. JR has previously the 2010 French documentary Women Are Heroes and was also the subject of last year’s doc Inside Out, which featured a score by composers including Antonio Pinto and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. More details about JR’s latest movie will be posted on this page as they are announced.
‘Rogue’ – Season 1 Soundtrack Released

The first soundtrack album for the DirecTV original series Rogue has been released. The album features selections from the original score of the show’s first season composed by Jeff Toyne (Dirty Girl, Blooded). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes and Amazon. The alternative rock band thenewno2 has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming WE tv drama The Divide. The show is created by Academy Award-nominated writer Richard LaGravenese (The Fisher King, The Bridges of Madison County) and Tony Goldwyn (Conviction, A Walk on the Moon) and stars Marin Ireland, Damon Gupton, Nia Long, Paul Schneider, Joe Anderson and Clarke Peters. The series follows an impassioned caseworker with The Innocence Initiative as she delves into the case of a death row inmate whom she believes was wrongly convicted of a young family’s heinous murder 11 years earlier. LaGravanese and Goldwyn are also executive producing the AMC Studios production with John Tinker (The Practice, Chicago Hope) who also serves as the showrunner on the project. Julian Wass has been hired to score the upcoming indie romantic comedy Ride. The film marks the second directorial effort of actress Helen Hunt who also stars in the movie alongside Luke Wilson, Brenton Thwaites, David Zayas, Robert Knepper, Mike White, Richard Kind, Leonor Varela and Elizabeth Jayne. The comedy follows a strong-willed mother who follows her 20-year-old son to Los Angeles after he quits college at NYU to become a surfer. Hunt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project with Lizzie Friedman (And Soon the Darkness), Gregg Little (Sex and Death 101) and Moon Blauner.
