The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Speed, Brother Bear) who previously scored last year’s first installment in the series. Planes: Fire & Rescue  is directed by Bobs Gannaway and features the voice talent of Dane Cook, Julie Bowen, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Danny Mann, Teri Hatcher and Ed Harris. The movie follows world-famous air racer Dusty who learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. ‘D-Day in HD’ Soundtrack Details

d-dayA&E Networks has released a soundtrack album for History’s event docu-series D-Day in HD. The album features the music from the two-part special by such composers as Christopher Lennertz (Horrible BossesRide Along), Trevor Morris (The TudorsImmortals), Alastair King and more. Also included is the song Uprise by Phil X, Andrew Bojanic,Elizabeth Hooper & Randall Brent Cooke. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. D-Day in HD coincides with the 70th Anniversary of the Allied invasion of Nazi-held Europe and features rara footage combined with interviews from the men who lived through it, including Allied and German survivors. Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:

maleficentExpected to top the weekend box office is the fantasy adventure Maleficent directed by Robert Stromberg and starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Sam Riley, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, The Sixth Sense) has composed the film’s original music. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as a new cover version of the song Once Upon a Dream by Lana Del Rey. million-waysAlso opening wide is the western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West directed by Seth MacFarlane and starring himself, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, Neil Patrick Harris and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Joel McNeely (HolesYoung Indiana Jones Chronicles). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the end credits song A Million Ways to Die performed by Alan Jackson and the film’s musical number If You’ve Only Got a Moustache. The album features the original song Crumblin’ written by the film’s screenwriter Joss Whedon and performed by Noah Maffit & Jessica Freedman. Also included are songs by Santigold, Iron & Wine, Opus Orange and Twinbed, as well as a track from the film’s score composed by Tony Morales. The film is written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia and stars Ewan McGregor, Tye Sheridan, Ciaran Hinds and Ayelet Zurer. The movie follows a  holy man and a demon on a journey through the desert who encounters a family struggling to survive, which forces him to confront his own fate. Julie Lynn (The Jane Austen Book ClubAlbert Nobbs) and Bonnie Curtis (Minority ReportA.I. thomas-crown-affairQuartet Records has announced a new soundtrack release for the 1968 thriller The Thomas Crown Affair directed by Norman Jewison and starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. The album features the world premiere release of the complete score composed by Michel Legrand (Summer of ’42, Yentl, Never Say Never Again), as well as the song The Windmills of Your Mind performed by Noel Harrison and co-written with Alan & Marilyn Bergman. Legrand received an Academy Award for the song and was also nominated for his score. annieGreg Kurstin is composing original music for the upcoming musical comedy drama Annie. The film is directed by Will Gluck (Easy AFriends with Benefits) and stars Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Amanda Troya, Eden Duncan Smith, Nicolette Pierini and Zoe Colletti. The movie is based on the Broadway classic of the same title and is set in the present day in New York. Emma Thompson has penned the screenplay, which was rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, We Bought a Zoo) and revised by Gluck. Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith (The Karate Kid, After Earth) are producing the Overbrook Entertainment and Marcy Media production with James Lassiter (I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happyness), Shawn “JAY Z” Carter, Jay Brown, and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith.
