John Frizzell to Score ‘Leatherface’

John Frizzell has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface. The film is directed by Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury (Inside) and stars Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Sam Strike and Vanessa Grasse. The movie centers on a teenage Leatherface as he escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Seth M. Sherwood has written the screenplay. Christa Campbell & Lati Grobman (Criminal, Righteous Kill), Carl Mazzocone and Les Weldon (The Expendables, London Has Fallen) are producing the Millennium Films production.

Bryan Senti Scoring ‘Lowriders’

imageBryan Senti has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming drama Lowriders. The movie is directed by Ricardo de Montreuil and stars Eva Longoria, Demián Bichir, Melissa Benoist, Theo Rossi, Tony Revolori and Gabriel Chavarria. The movie is set against the backdrop of East LA’s near-spiritual car and follows the story of a talented young street artist caught between the lowrider world inhabited by his old-school father and ex-con brother and the outlet that defines his self-expression. Josh Bierne-Gordon and Justin Tippin have written the screenplay based on previous drafts by Cheo Hodari Coker and Elgin James. Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) is producing the project for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for Blumhouse Productions.

‘Money Monster’ Soundtrack Details

The album features the film’s original music composed by Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Free Birds) and produced by Henry Jackman (Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). The soundtrack will be released on May 13, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Money Monster is directed by Jodie Foster and stars George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Jack O’Connell, Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito and Caitriona Balfe. The movie follows a bombastic television stock huckster whose program and life are taken hostage by an outraged gunman.

Soundtrack Album for BBC’s ‘Undercover’ Released

The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Vince Pope (No Offence, The Bad Education Movie, Misfits). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Undercover is created by Peter Moffat (Silk, Criminal Justice) and stars Sophie Okonedo, Adrian Lester and Dennis Haysbert. The 6-part political thriller follows a woman who is about to become the first black woman to hold the highest ranking public prosecutor role in England.

The movie is based on the book The Pirates of Somalia by Jay Bahadur and tells the true story of the rookie journalist who forms a half-baked plan to embed himself among the pirates of Somalia and ultimately succeeded in providing the first close-up look into who these men are, how they live, and the forces that drive them.

Danny Elfman to Return for ‘Fifty Shades Darker’

The film is directed by James Foley (Glengarry Glenn Ross, Confidence, Perfect Strangers) and stars Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Eric Johnson, Bella Heathcote, Arielle Kebbel and Kim Basinger. The movie continues the story from last year’s Fifty Shades of Grey, which Elfman also scored, and follows Christian as he wrestles with his inner demons, and Anastasia who must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her. Niall Leonard has written the screenplay based on E.L. James’ bestselling novel. Michael De Luca & Dana Brunetti (The Social Network, Captain Phillips, 21) are also producing the project with James.

The movie follows a successful owner of a private jet business who finds himself pitted against a disgruntled young I.T. consultant who begins stalking his daughter and using technology to threaten his family, business and life. William Wisher (Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Judge Dredd) has written the screenplay based on an earlier script by Dan Kay. David T. Friendly (Little Miss Sunshine, Doctor Dolittle), Craig Flores (Charlie Countryman), Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe) and Beau St. Clair (The Thomas Crown Affair, Laws of Attraction) are producing the project.
