back-to-the-futureIMG Artists and the Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency announced a new partnership with Universal Pictures today that will see Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future return to the big screen, accompanied by a live orchestra performing the film’s original score composed by Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, The Avengers, Cast Away, Captain America: The First Avenger). The events will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the movie starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Llyod and Lea Thompson. Silvestri will compose roughly 15 minutes of new material as part of the performance tour, which will have its world premiere screening and performance in Lucerne, Switzerland, performed by the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra, in May of 2015. mockingjayThe full details of the soundtrack album for the sequel The Hunger Games – Mockingjay – Part 1 have been revealed. The album features the original songs Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde and This Is Not a Game by The Chemical Brothers, which have previously been released as singles. Also included are other tracks by Lorde who is curating the full soundtrack, as well as songs by Charli XCX, Raury, CHVRCHES, Stromae, Raury, Grace Jones, XOV, Tinashé and Bat for Lashes. The soundtrack will be released on November 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. suffragetteAlexandre Desplat is currently scoring the upcoming historical drama Suffragette. The film is directed by Sarah Gavron (Brick Lane) and stars Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Whishaw, Brendan Gleeson, Romola Garai, Anne-Marie Duff and Samuel West. The movie takes place during the early days of the women’s suffrage movement in the U.K. and centers around the foot soldiers who were forced underground. Abi Morgan (The Iron LadyShame, The Invisible Woman) has written the screenplay. Faye Ward and Alison Owen (Saving Mr. Banks, Elizabeth, Jane Eyre) are producing the Ruby Films production. feltenstein-nauAndrew Feltenstein and John Nau are reteaming with director Leslye Headland on the upcoming comedy Sleeping with Other People. The film written and directed by Headland stars Jason Sudeikis, Alison Brie, Natasha Lyonne, Amanda Peet and Adam Scott. The movie follows a good-natured womanizer and a serial cheater who form a platonic relationship that helps reform them in ways, while a mutual attraction sets in. Will Ferrell & Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladegga NightsStep Brothers) are producing the project for Gary Sanchez Productions. Feltenstein and Nau have previously scored Headland’s previous feature Bachelorette. They have also scored films including Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and Casa de mi padre for Gary Sanchez. Sleeping with Other People is expected to premiere in 2015.

The film is directed by Isabel Coixet (Elegy, The Secret Life of Words, My Life Without Me) and stars Juliette Binoche, Rinko Kikuchi and Gabriel Byrne. The movie follows two women from two different worlds who are struggling to survive in one of the most inhospitable places on Earth in early 1900s Greenland and chronicles their long, tense wait for the same man they love. Miguel Barros (Blackthorn) has written the screenplay. Andrés Santana (Blackthorn) is producing the project with Antonia Nava (The Machinist, Transsiberia) for Aiete-Ariane Films. hobbit-five-armiesActor Billy Boyd and screenwriters/producers Phillipa Boyens and Fran Walsh have written an original end credits song for Peter Jackson’s upcoming fantasy adventure The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The track entitled The Last Goodbye is also performed by Boyd who played Peregrin “Pippin” Took in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. As previously reported, WaterTower Music will release the soundtrack album for the film, which features the song, as well as the film’s original score composed by Howard Shore. The soundtrack will be released on December 16, 2014 and the 2CD special edition version is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Goyer and starring Matt Ryan, Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford.
