Michael Brook to Score ‘Tallulah’

tallulahMichael Brook has been hired to score the upcoming indie drama Tallulah. The film is written and directed by Sian Heder (Orange Is the New Black) and stars Ellen Page, Allison Janney, Tammy Blanchard, Evan Jonigkeit and Uzo Aduba. The movie follows a rootless young woman who takes a toddler from a wealthy, negligent mother and passes the baby off as her own in an effort to protect her. Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Mrs. Doubtfire) is producing the project with Heather Rae (Frozen River, Ass Backwards), Russell Levine and Todd Traina. hatefulThe Weinstein Company has published the opening track from Quentin Tarantino’s western The Hateful Eight. The track, entitled L’Ultima Diligenza di Red Rock, is written by the film’s composer Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Untouchables, The Mission). As previously reported, Decca Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the film this Friday, December 18. ‘Dukhtar’ Soundtrack Released

dukhtarA soundtrack album will be released for the Pakistani dramatic thriller Dukhtar. The album features the film’s original music composed by Peter Nashel (Marco Polo, Lie to Me, The Night Listener, Bee Season). Also included are the songs from the film performed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Hina Nasrullah & more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Dukhtar is written and directed by  Afia Nathaniel and stars Samiya Mumtaz, Mohib Mirza, Saleha Aref, Asif Khan, Ajab Gul and Samina Ahmed. The movie follows a woman whose 10-year-old daughter is promised in marriage to a much older tribal chieftain and takes the girl and flees her village, only to be chased by her own husband and the intended groom’s henchman. palm-trees-in-the-snowWarner Music will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish romantic drama Palm Trees in the Snow (Palmeras en la niece). The album features the film’s original music composed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6The RavenThe Cold Light of DayThe Quiet Ones) who recorded his score at Abbey Road Studios in London. Also included is the original title song co-written by the composer and performed by Pablo Alborán, as well songs by Yolanda Eyama and Brigitte Emaga. The soundtrack will be released overseas on December 18, 2015. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Palm Trees in the Snow is directed by Fernando González and stars Mario Casas, Adriana Ugarte, Berta Vázquez, Macarena García and Emilio Gutiérrez Caba. The movie written by Sergio Sanchez (The ImpossibleThe Orphanage) and is set in the last days of the Spanish colonies in Africa and centers on a star-crossed love, with the consequences of that love reaching into the 21st century. Julian Wass to Score HBO’s ‘Animals’

animalsJulian Wass has signed on to score the upcoming HBO original series Animals. The show is created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano and revolves around a group of downtrodden creatures – pigeons, rats, bedbugs, etc. – living in New York City. The animated comedy features the voices of Matarese and Luciano, as well as actors including Katie Aselton, Nick Kroll and Rob Corddry. The creators are also executive producing the project with Jay & Mark Duplass (CyrusJeff, Who Lives at HomeTogetherness). Wass has previously scored the Duplass Brothers-directed feature The Do-Deca-Pentathlon  and the comedy The Overnight, which they produced.  Read the rest of this entry »
