Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the comedy drama The Book of Love. The album features the film’s original music composed by Justin Timberlake and Mitchell Owens. The soundtrack will be released on January 13, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Also included is an original song performed by The Shadowboxers. The Book of Love is co-written and directed by Bill Purple and stars Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Orlando Jones, Paul Reiser and Mary Steenburgen. The movie centers on an introverted architect, who – after his wife dies in a car accident – sets out to help a homeless teen to build a raft to sail across the Atlantic.

‘The Black Room’ Soundtrack Announced
Goldenlane will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Black Room. The album features the film’s original music composed by EDM artist Savant (aka Aleksander Vinter), as well as additional music by Arthur “The God Of Hellfire” Brown, country musician Lynn Anderson, Brainticket & more. The soundtrack will be released physically on March 3, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Black Room is written and directed by Rolfe Kanefsky and stars Natasha Henstridge, Lin Shaye and Dominique Swain. The movie follows a couple who just moved into their dream house as they slowly start to discover the secret behind the black room in the cellar.
Frank Ilfman to Score ‘Ghost Stories’
Frank Ilfman has signed on to score the upcoming supernatural thriller Ghost Stories. The film is written and directed by Jeremy Dyson (The League of Gentlemen) & actor Andy Nyman and stars Martin Freeman, Paul Whitehouse, Alex Lawther and Amy Doyle. The movie follows an arch sceptic professor who embarks upon a terror filled quest, when he stumbles across a long lost file containing details of three cases of inexplicable ‘hauntings’. Claire Jones (Kill List, Sightseers) and Robin Gutch (Hunger, ’71) are producing the project. Ilfman will be recording his score with the London Metropolitan Orchestra in March.
‘The Eavesdropper’ (‘La mécanique de l’ombre’) Soundtrack Details
L’R du Trésor will release a soundtrack album for the French spy thriller The Eavesdropper (La mécanique de l’ombre). The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Auger. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 6 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the track list. The Eavesdropper marks the feature directorial debut of Thomas Kruithof and stars Francois Cluzet, Denis Podalydes, Alba Rohrwacher, Sami Bouajila and Simon Abkarian. The movie revolves around a middle-aged, financially struggling man who gets hired by a mysterious employer to transcribe phone tapped conversations, which gets him trapped in the French secret services underworld.
Rolfe Kent Scoring Greg Kinnear’s ‘The Philosophy of Phil’
Rolfe Kent has composed the music for the upcoming comedy The Philosophy of Phil. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Greg Kinnear who also stars in the movie alongside Emily Mortimer, Jay Duplass, Robert Forster, Taylor Schilling, Bradley Whitford and Luke Wilson. The movie follows a dentist who tries to take control of his life after a patient commits suicide. Stephen Mazur (Liar Liar, Heartbreakers) has written the screenplay. Aaron L Gilbert (The Birth of a Nation, A Single Shot) is producing the Bron Studios and Imperative Entertainment production with Sandy Stern (Being John Malkovich, Saved!) and Bradley Thomas (There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself and Irene).
‘A Bag of Marbles’ (‘Un sac de billes’) Soundtrack Announced
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the French drama A Bag of Marbles (Un sac de billes). The album features the film’s original music composed by Armand Amar (The Concert, The Source, Capital, The History of Love). The soundtrack will be released overseas on January 13, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Listen to four tracks from the score after the jump. A Bag of Marbles is directed by Christian Duguay (The Art of War, Screamers) and stars Dorian Le Clech, Batyste Fleurial, Christian Clavier, Elsa Zylberstein and Patrick Bruel. The movie based on the book of the same title by Joseph Joffo is set in occupied France during World War II and follows two young Jewish brothers who escape the enemy invasion and try to reunite their family.

Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Mick created by John & Dave Chernin (It’s Always Funny in Philadelphia) and starring Kaitlin Olson, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton, Carla Jimenez and Susan Park. The show’s original music is composed by Jonathan Sadoff (The Meddler, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Beautiful Creatures). The series revolves around a rash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who must assume guardianship of her sister’s three high-maintenance children. Marco Beltrami to Score James Mangold’s ‘Logan’
Director James Mangold confirmed on Twitter that Marco Beltrami is currently scoring the upcoming Wolverine sequel Logan. The film starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen follows an an aging Wolverine and Professor X must protect a young female clone of Wolverine from an evil organization led by Nathanial Essex. Simon Kinberg (X-Men:Days of Future Past & Apocalypse, The Martian, Cinderella) and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men series, Deadpool, Constantine) are producing the project. No word yet on whether any music composed by Cliff Martinez who was originally hired to score the movie will be featured in the film.

Playing in limited release since this past Sunday before expanding nationwide on January 6 is the drama Hidden Figures directed by Theodore Melfi and starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, Glen Powell and Kevin Costner. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator), Pharrell Williams and Benjamin Wallfisch (Lights Out). CMT’s ‘Sun Records’ to Feature Music by Lyle Workman
Lyle Workman has been tapped to score the upcoming CMT original series Sun Records. The show stars Chad Michael Murray, Billy Gardell, Drake Milligan, Kevin Fonteyne, Christian Lees, Jonah Lees, Trevor Donovan and Kerry Holliday. The drama based on the book written by Floyd Mutrux & Colin Escott is set in Memphis and depicts the rise of musicians including Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash as the burgeoning civil-rights movement grips the nation. Gil Grant (Painkiller Jane) serves as the series’ showrunner and is also executive producing the Thinkfactory Media production with Leslie Greif (Texas Rising, Funny Money), Jayson Dinsmore (Still the King) and Julia Silverton.
