The details of the 2-CD soundtrack album for the Amazon original series The Man in the High Castle have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original music from the first season composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6, X-Men: First Class) and Dominic Lewis (Free Birds, Money Monster) on the first disc and music from the second season by Lewis on the second disc. The 2-CD set will be released on February 24, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A digital version of the first season album will be released digitally tomorrow exclusively on Amazon and the second season album has already been released digitally (click here to download).

‘Patriots Day’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama Patriots Day. The album features the film’s original music composed by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Patriots Day is directed by Peter Berg and stars Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan, Jimmy O. Yang, Vince Curatola and James Colby. The movie tells the story of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis’s actions in the events leading up to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists behind it.
BMI to Present 19th Annual Composer/Director Roundtable at 2017 Sundance Film Festival
Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and Sundance Institute have announced the line-up for the 19th annual Composer/Director Roundtable and 15th annual Snowball during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. BMI’s roundtable entitled Music & Film: The Creative Process will take place on Tuesday, January 24, at Festival Base Camp, presented by Canada Goose (475 Swede Alley, Park City, Utah), from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The conversation will be moderated by Doreen Ringer-Ross, BMI’s Vice President of Film,TV & Visual Media Relations and focus on the relationship between composer and director.
Ariana Grande & John Legend to Perform ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Title Song
Walt Disney Records has announced that Ariana Grande and John Legend are set to perform a new version of the song Beauty and the Beast from Disney’s live-action film adaptation of the same title. The ballad written by Alan Menken and featuring lyrics by Howard Ashman was originally performed by Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson and received an Academy Award and a Grammy Award among other prizes. The new rendition of the classic song is produced Ron Fair and will be included on the official soundtrack album, which also features other new recordings of the original songs from the animated feature,as well as three new songs written by Menken and Tim Rice. Jeff Cardoni to Score Netflix’s ‘Girlboss’
Jeff Cardoni is scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Girlboss. The show is created by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect) and stars Britt Robertson, Johnny Simmons, Ellie Reed, Dean Norris and Alphonso McAuley. The comedy is inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography of the same title and follows a rebellious, broke anarchist who stumbles upon her passion of selling vintage clothes online and becomes an unlikely businesswoman. Cannon is also execute producing the project with Amoruso, Charlize Theron & Laverne McKinnon and Christian Ditter (How to Be Single) who is also directing several episodes.

The details of the soundtrack album for the sequel Fifty Shades Darker have been revealed. The album features the songs from the movie, including the track I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker) by ZAYN & Taylor Swift, which is already available as a single, as well as songs by Halsey, Tove Lo, Sia, Kygo, The-Dream, John Legend, Nicki Minaj and Nick Jonas. Also included are two tracks form the movie’s original score composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland). The soundtrack will be released on February 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Marcelo Zarvos to Score Steven Chbsoky’s ‘Wonder’
Marcelo Zarvos has signed on to score the upcoming drama Wonder. The film is directed by Steven Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and stars Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Noah Jupe, Bryce Gheisar, Izabela Vidovic, Danielle Rose Russell, Millie Davis, Elle McKinnon, Daveed Diggs and Mandy Patinkin. The movie is based on the book of the same title by R.J. Palacio and centers on a young boy born with a facial deformity who is destined to fit in at a new school, and to make everyone understand he’s just another ordinary kid. Jack Thorne (How I Live Now, A Long Way Down) and Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) wrote the screenplay.
‘Singles’ – Deluxe Edition Soundtrack to Be Released
Sony Music will release a new soundtrack album for 1992 romantic comedy Singles written and directed by Cameron Crowe and starring Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott, Kyra Sedgwick, Sheila Kelley, Jim True, Bill Pullman and Matt Dillon. The album features the songs from the film by Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, Alice in Chains, Citizen Dick, The Smashing Pumpkins, Mike McCready, Jimi Hendrix, Soundgarden & more. Also included are tracks from the movie’s score by Cornell and Paul Westerberg. The 2-CD set features the content of the original soundtrack album on the first disc and 18 new tracks on the second disc. The album will be released on February 17, 2017 and will also be available on vinyl.
‘The Invisible Guest’ (‘Contratiempo’) Soundtrack Announced
Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish thriller The Invisible Guest (Contratiempo). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, Mama, A Monster Calls, Crimson Peak). Also included is the original song Nadie va a venir a buscarte written by Velázquez and performed by Zahara. 53rd Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards Nominations Announced
The Cinema Audio Society has announced the nominees for the 53rd Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing. For the past couple of years, scoring mixers have been recognized alongside production, re-recording, ADR and foley mixers. In the Motion Pictures – Live Action category, the scoring mixers honored include Peter Cobbin for Marvel’s Doctor Strange (feat. music by Michael Giacchino), Daniel Kresco for Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge (music by Rupert Gregson-Wiliams), Nicholai Baxter for Damien Chazelle’s La La Land (scored by Justin Hurwitz), Joel Iwataki for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (music by Michael Giacchino) and Bobby Fernandez for Clint Eastwood’s Sully (score by Christian Jacob & The Tierney Sutton Band).
