Universal Music Enterprises will release a score album for F. Gary Gray’s drama Straight Outta Compton. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Joseph Trapanese (Insurgent, Oblivion, TRON: Uprising, Earth to Echo) and produced by the composer and Bryan Lawson. The soundtrack will be released on January 8, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the film will also be released on the same day. Richard Gibbs has signed on to score the upcoming music drama Coco. The film is directed by RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists) and stars Azealia Banks, Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint and Hana Mae. The movie follows an aspiring hip-hop artist who struggles to pursue her music and returns to school, where she discovers the vivid world of slam poetry and finds her true voice and an unlikely love. ‘Jaws’ 2-CD Soundtrack Announced

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack release for Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic Jaws and starring Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw. The album features the film’s Academy Award-winning original music composed and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark). The 2-CD set features the complete score, including previously unreleased music and alternate cues on the first disc, as well as the content of the original 1975 soundtrack album and a number of source cues on the second disc. Jeff Grace has been tapped to score the upcoming SundanceTV original series Hap and Leonard. The show is created by Jim Mickle & Nick Damici and stars James Purefoy, Michael Kenneth Williams and Christina Hendricks. The drama is set in 1980s East Texas and centers on Hap Collins, a white working-class ex-con, and Leonard Pine, an openly gay, black Vietnam vet with anger issues. Mickle and Damici are also executive producing the Sundance Studios production with Nick Shumaker (Another Earth) and Jeremy Platt (The Violent Kind). The movie follows a family who goes on a hunt for a Bigfoot-like creature called the Howling Hoodoo during a visit to the house of their kooky aunt.
