Steven Price Wins BAFTA TV Craft Award for ‘The Hunt’

Steven Price won his first BAFTA TV Craft Award today for his music for the BBC documentary The Hunt. The Academy Award-wining composer who recorded his score with the BBC Concert Orchestra accepted his award in person at the ceremony in London. Price’s score for the natural history docu-series is available on Sony Music. The other nominees in the category were Anne Dudley for Poldark, Ben Foster & Nick Foster for Thunderbirds Are Go! and Olafur Arnalds for Broadchurch. For the full list of winners, click here.

16th World Soundtrack Awards Program Announced

The first round of the program and composers for the 16th World Soundtrack Awards has been announced today. This year’s edition will shine the spotlight on television scores. The Brussels Philharmonic and the Flemish Radio Choir will perform the scores to numerous TV series in the presence of their composers. Among the titles to be performed are FX’s Fargo composed by Jeff Russo who will be performing drums during a performance of his score, The Leftovers composed by Max Richter, Sherlock composed by David Arnold& Michael Price, House of Cards written by Jeff Beal who will also be on stage as a performer. Tyler Bates has been tapped to score the upcoming spy thriller The Coldest City. The film is directed by David Leitch and stars Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman and Sofia Boutella. The movie based on Antony Johnston’s graphic novel of the same title is set in Berlin during the Cold War era and follows a female spy who has to find a list of double agents who were being smuggled into the West. Kurt Johnstad (300, Act of Valor) has written the screenplay. Leitch and Theron are also producing the project with A.J.
