John Lunn is set to compose the music for the upcoming British series Jamestown. The show is written by Bill Gallagher (The Paradise, Blood) and stars Max Beesley, Jason Flemyng, Dean Lennox-Kelly, Naomi Battrick, Sophie Rundle, Shaun Dooley, Stuart Martin, Steven Waddington, Matt Stokoe, Burn Gorman and Niamh Walsh. The 8-part drama is set in 1619 and follows the British settlers as they establish a community in the New World. Jeff Russo to Score Syfy’s ‘Channel Zero’

Jeff Russo is set to score the upcoming Syfy original series Channel Zero. The show is created by Nick Antosca (The Forest) based on Kris Straub’s online short story and will star Paul Schneider, Fiona Shaw, Shaun Benson, Natalie Brown and Luisa D’Oliveira. The anthology series centers on one man’s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s – and his ever-growing suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood. Craig William Macneill (The Boy) will direct all episodes of the first season. John Williams Wins Saturn Award for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

John Williams was honored with the Saturn Award last night at the 42nd annual Saturn Awards in Burbank, presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. The composer won the prize in the Best Music category for his score for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The other nominated composers were Ennio Morricone (The Hateful Eight), Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road), Johann Johansson (Sicario), M.M. Keeravani (Baahubali: The Beginning) and Fernando Velazquez (Crimson Peak). Williams’ score for the seventh Star Wars episode is available on Walt Disney Records. The composer has previously received Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for his work on the film.
Songs from FX’s ‘Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll’ Season 2 to Be Released

FX Networks will release several new songs from the second season of the FX original series Sex& Drugs& Rock&Roll. To be released on June 30 are the tracks Ain’t No Valentine performed by the early 90’s New York band from the show called The Assassins (feat. Elizabeth Gillies), as well as Hush performed by Ava X & Liza Colby. A week later, July 7, sees the release of the songs Liar & Go Funk Yourself performed by The Davvy O’s & Rebecca Naomi Jones. On July 14, FX will release the track Don’t Break Me Too and two weeks later, Just Le Me Go, both performed by The Assassins (feat. Elizabeth Gillies). ‘The Red Turtle’ Soundtrack Details

IDOL and Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Red Turtle. The album features the film’s original music composed by Laurent Perez Del Mar (Zarafa, Fears of the Dark). The soundtrack will be released overseas this Friday, June 24 and in the U.S. later this year or in early 2017. Visit Amazon to download the album and to check out audio samples. The Red Turtle is directed by Michael Dudok de Wit and follows the major life stages of a castaway on a deserted tropical island populated by turtles, crabs and birds. Daniel Hart has been tapped to score the upcoming Fox drama The Exorcist. The show is created by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four, The Lazarus Effect) and stars Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Geena Davis, Brianne Howey, Hannah Kasulka and Kurt Egyiawa. The series is based on William Peter Blatty’s novel of the same title, which inspired William Friedkin’s Academy Award-winning 1973 feature and follows two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession. Slater is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Morgan Creek production with Rolin Jones, James & David Robinson (The Good Shepherd, Dream House, Exorcist: The Beginning), Barbara Wall and Roy Lee (The Lego Movie, The Strangers), as well as Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) who also directed the pilot episode. Disney’s ‘Inner Workings’ to Feature Music by Ludwig Goransson

Ludwig Goransson has composed the music for Disney’s upcoming animated short Inner Workings. The film is written and directed by Leonardo Matsuda (story artist on Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph) and tells the story of the internal struggle between a man’s pragmatic, logical side and his free-spirited, adventurous half. Sean Lurie is producing the project and Walt Disney Animation/Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter (Toy Story, Cars, A Bug’s Life) is executive producing the short.
