Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the YouTube Red original series Impulse. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by DERU (aka Benjamin Wynn) (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 20, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Impulse is based on the third novel in the Jumper series by Steven Gould and stars Maddie Hasson, Missi Pyle, Sarah Desjardins, Enuka Okuma, Craig Arnold and David James Elliott. Lakeshore Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for Panos Cosmatos’ thriller Mandy. Children of the New Dawn is written by late composer Johann Johannsson (Arrival, Sicario, The Theory of Everything, Prisoners) and is now available to download as digital single on Amazon. Republic Records will release two soundtrack EPs for the comedy drama Blindspotting. The first EP features seven songs performed by lead actors Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal, as well as Moe Green, E-40, Mistah F.A.B., Kiana Ledé, Ryan Nicole and Emily Raver. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 13 and will be available to download on Amazon. The second EP is set to come out on July 27. Check back on this page for more information. Sub Pop Records has announced the first soundtrack album for the Adult Swim original series Rick and Morty. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Ryan Elder, songs by Chaos Chaos, Blonde Redhead, Mazzy Star and Belly, as well as new tracks from Chad VanGaalen and Clipping inspired by the series. Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Ride Along) has signed on to compose the score the upcoming animated feature UglyDolls. The composer is also co-writing original songs for the movie with Glenn Slater (Tangled, Sausage Party, Galavant). The film is directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2, Gnomeo & Juliet, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) and features the voice talent of Pitbull and Kelly Clarkson. Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock’ to Feature Main Titles Theme & Score by Thomas Newman

Thomas Newman has composed the main titles theme for the new Hulu original series Castle Rock. The composer has also contributed the score for the first two episodes of the show, which is developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason (Manhattan) and stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) is the composer of the other eight episodes of the show’s first season. The psychological horror drama is set in the Stephen King multiverse and takes place in the fictional Maine town of Castle Rock, which has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption.
