Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy When Margaux Meets Margaux (La belle et la belle). The album features the film’s original music composed by Kasper Winding (The Riot Club, The Salvation, Moonwalkers). Also included are tracks by Chapelier Fou, N’to and Odezenne. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the track list. When Margaux Meets Margaux is written and directed by Sophie Fillières and stars Sandrine Kiberlain, Agathe Bonitzer and Melvil Poupaud. Composer Laurent Petitgand is reuniting with director Wim Wenders on the upcoming documentary Pope Francis – A Man of His Word. The film sets out to present Pope Francis’ work of reform and his answers to today’s global questions, from his deep concern for the poor and wealth inequality, to his involvement in environmental issues and social justice. Wenders (Wings of Desire, Paris, Texas) is also producing the project with Samanta Gandolfi Branca, Alessandro Lo Monaco, Andrea Gambetta and David Rosier. Read the rest of this entry »

Varese Sarabande will release the first soundtrack album for the AMC original series Into the Badlands. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by David Shephard (Longmire). Also included is the main title theme by Warrior Blade. The soundtrack will be released physically on April 20, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Into the Badlands is created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville) and stars Daniel Wu, Marton Csokas, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Sarah Bolger and Orla Brady. The drama is loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the Westand and tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, Scream, World War Z, The Hurt Locker, The Wolverine). Rob Simonsen has composed the music for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Captive State. The film is directed Rupert Wyatt (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) and stars John Goodman, Vera Farmiga, Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors and Colson Baker. The movie is set in Chicago decades after the inhabitancy of alien forces, and explores the lives of two sides of the conflict: the collaborators and dissidents. STX Entertainment announced today that Grammy Award winner Pitbull (aka Armando Christian Perez) will write and perform an original song for the upcoming animated UglyDolls movie. The singer/rapper/record producer will also lend his voice talent to one of the film’s key characters. The movie based on the David Horvath-created dolls is directed and produced by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, From Dusk Till Dawn, Once Upon a Time in Mexico) and follows the UglyDolls as they confront what it means to be different and struggle with their desire to be loved. Ryan Elder (Rick and Morty, Harmontown) and Ben Bromfield are scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming Netflix series The Boss Baby: Back in BusinessThe show is based on last year’s Academy Award-nominated animated feature (scored by Hans Zimmer & Steve Mazzaro) and features the voices of JP Karliak, Pierce Gagnon and Kevin Michael Richardson. The series follows the title character as he tries to balance family life with his job at Baby Corp headquarters. Universal Music will release a new soundtrack album for the NBC hit drama This Is Us. The album features a selection of songs from the show’s second season, including Grey Reverend’s Watch Me cover, Chrissy Metz’s cover of Landslide, the original song Where I Belong performed by Hannah Zeile and written by Elise Davis & the series’ composer Siddhartha Khosla, Hannah Miller’s cover of Beauty and Pain, Taylor Goldsmith’s cover of Jackson Browne’s These Days and Goldspot’s rendition of I Got You Babe. Also included are songs by Elton John, José González, Cat Stevens, Billie Holiday & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 13 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples.
