The album features the film’s original score composed by Raney Shockne (The To Do List, Kevin Can Wait, The Assignment, Queen of the South, Anger Management). Also included are songs from the movie performed by the fictional band Starfoxy and their members. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 6, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from Steven Spielberg’s feature adaptation of Ready Player One. The album features a collection of the 80s as featured in the movie by artists including Prince, Tears for Fears, The Temptations, Bruce Springsteen, Blondie, Bee Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire, New Order & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 30 and will be available to download on Amazon. As previously reported, the label is also releasing a separate soundtrack featuring composer Alan Silvestri’s original score from the movie on the same day. Ready Player One based on Ernest Cline’s novel of the same title and starring Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are reteaming with Joel Edgerton on the upcoming drama Boy Erased. The film is written and directed by Edgerton who also stars in the movie alongside Lucas Hedges, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Joe Alywn, Cherry Jones and Michael “Flea” Balzary. The movie is based on the book Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith, and Family by Garrard Conley and centers on the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents and is faced with an ultimatum: attend a gay conversion therapy program, or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith. Alan Menken has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Howard. The film is directed by Don Hahn (Waking Sleeping Beauty) who produced numerous Disney productions, including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The movie centers on the legendary lyricist Howard Ashman who penned the lyrics and collaborated with Menken on Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast before he passed away at the height of the AIDS crisis in 1991. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers, Winged Migration) and performed by the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gast Waltzing.
