Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the action thriller sequel The Equalizer 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Unstoppable, Man on Fire) who previously scored the 2014 original movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 20, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Equalizer 2 is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo. La-La Land Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Amazon original series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s 1988 classic drama The Bear (L’ours). The album features the remastered and expanded original score from the movie composed by Academy Award nominee Philippe Sarde (Tess, The Tenant, Lord of the Flies, Ghost Story), including around 20 minutes of previously unreleased music. Jordan Gagne has been tapped to score the upcoming ABC drama The Rookie. The show is created by Alexi Hawley (Castle, The Following) and stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin, Mercedes Mason, Melissa O’Neil, Afton Williamson and Eric Winter. The series follows a middle-aged small-town guy who moves to L.A. to pursue his dream of being a cop. Nicolas Errèra (Shaolin, The Butterfly) has recently scored the Chinese action drama Hidden Man. The film is directed by Jiang Wen (Gone with the Bullets, Let the Bullets Fly) who also stars in the movie alongside actress Eddie Peng, Zhou Yun, Liao Fan and Xu Qing. The movie is set in 1930s China and follows a young swordsman who returns home to try and solve a five-year-old murder case. The movie is based on the book The Surgeon of Crowthorne by Simon Winchester and tells the story of professor James Murray, who began compiling the Oxford English Dictionary in 1857 and Dr. William Chester Minor, who submitted more than 10,000 entries while he was an inmate at an asylum for the criminally insane. City Zen Records will release a soundtrack album for the new film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Mia Todd Doi who collaborated with artists such as Saul Williams, Tunde Adebimpe, Dntel (of The Postal Service), the Swedish psych band Dungen, Mexican folk/experimental musician Luis Pérez Ixoneztli, and composer, arranger & viola player Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on her score.
