Universal Music Enterprises has released the first soundtrack album for the Amazon original series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The album features a selection of songs from the show’s first season by Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Julie London, Connie Francis & more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. A CD version is set to be released in early 2019 and is available for pre-order here and a vinyl version is also in the works (click here to order). Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Lord of War, Self/less) has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actor Chiwetel Ejiofor who also stars in the movie alongside Maxwell Simba, Aïssa Maïga, Lily Banda, Lemogang Tsipa, Philbert Falakeza, Joseph Marcell and Noma Dumezweni. The movie is based on the book of the same title written by William Kamkwamba & Bryan Mealer and tells the story of a 13-year-old boy who helps his village by building a wind turbine after reading about them in a library book. BMG has released a soundtrack album for Stanley Tucci’s biographical drama Final Portrait. The album features the film’s original music composed by Evan Lurie (Lonesome Jim, Jack Goes Boating) who has previously scored Tucci’s Joe Gould’s Secret and Blind Date. Final Portrait is written and directed by Tucci and stars Geoffrey Rush, Armie Hammer, Tony Shalhoub, Sylvie Testud and Clémence Poésy. Lalo Schifrin Honored at Governors Awards

Yesterday, Lalo Schifrin was honored with an Honorary Academy Award at the 10th Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center. The composer whose scoring credits include Mission: Impossible, The Cincinnati Kid, Enter the Dragon, Cool Hand Luke, Bullit, The Amityville Horror and Rush Hour was introduced by actress Kathy Bates (who starred in Schifrin-scored The Bridge of San Rey) and Clint Eastwood who collaborated with Schifrin on eight movies including Dirty Harry, Sudden Impact and The Deal Pool. ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ to Feature New Music by John Williams

John Williams has composed new music for the Star Wars-themed land of Galaxy’s Edge, which will be opening at the Disney’s theme parks in Anaheim, California, and Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida next year. The music was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, and was conducted by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets).
