Two movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

king-arthurOpening in most theaters is the action adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Jude Law and Eric Bana. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Counselor, Gold). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. snatchedAlso opening wide is the action comedy Snatched directed by Jonathan Levine, produced by Paul Feig and starring Amy Schumer, Goldie Hawn, Joan Cusack, Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes and Christopher Meloni. Theodore Shapiro (Ghostbusters, Spy, The Devil Wears Prada) and Chris Bacon (Bates Motel, Source Code) have composed the film’s original music. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul to Write New Songs for Fox’s ‘A Christmas Story’

pasek-paulBenj Pasek and Justin Paul will compose several new songs for Fox’s television adaptation of the 1983 classic feature and the Broadway musical A Christmas Story. The 3-hour television event based on the movie and stage musical follows a Midwestern boy named Ralphie who attempts to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun really is the perfect Christmas gift. Jonathan Tolins and Robert Cary (Grease: LIVE) are writing the script. ‘Master of None’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released

master-of-noneLakeshore Records has released the first soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Master of None. The album features the songs from the show’s second season by artists including Mina, Ryan Paris, Bobby Charles, Sylvester, Pino D’Angiò, Will Powers, Soft Cell, Bobby Charles & more. The soundtrack is now available to download here. A CD version is set to come out next month and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. Master of None is created by Aziz Anzari & Alan Yang and stars Anzari himself, alongside H. Siddhartha Khosla to Score Marvel’s ‘Runaways’

runawaysSiddhartha Khosla has been hired to score the upcoming Hulu original series Runaways. The show is created by Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Chuck) & Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl, The Carrie Diaries) and stars Gregg Sulkin, Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer and Allegra Acosta. The drama is based on the Marvel Comics property created by Brian K. Vaughan & Adrian Alphona and revolves around a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are in an evil crime organization and team up to run away from their homes in order to atone for their parents’ actions and to discover the secrets of their origins. ‘The Wizard of Lies’ Soundtrack Details

The album features the film’s original music composed by Evgueni Galperine and Sacha Galperine (The Family, The Past, Madame Bovary, Nine Lives). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 19, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Wizard of Lies is directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Donnie Brasco) and stars Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer as Bernie and Ruth Madoff, as well as Hank Azaria, Alessandro Nivola, Lily Rabe and Kristen Connolly.The movie revolves around Madoff’s massive Ponzi scheme, how it was perpetrated on the public and the trail of destruction it left in its wake, both for the victims and Madoff’s family.  Read the rest of this entry »

cloak-daggerMark Isham announced on Instagram that he will compose the music for Marvel’s upcoming Freeform original series Cloak & Dagger. The show is created by Joe Pokaski (Underground) based on the Marvel Comic characters by Bill Mantlo & Ed Hannigan and stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. Evermore. The series follows two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. ‘I Love Dick’ Soundtrack Released

The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Mandy Hoffman (Terri, The Lovers). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Also coming out today as a digital single is the song Zan Hastam by She-King as featured in the comedy. Click here to download the track. I Love Dick is created by Jill Soloway & Sarah Gubbins and stars Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne and Roberta Colindrez. The series is based on Chris Kraus’ 1997 novel of the same name and is set in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas, where a struggling married couple and their mutual obsession with an off-putting but charismatic professor. The album features previously unreleased songs from the show composed by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted) and featuring lyrics by Glenn Slater (Tangled, Home on the Range). Galavant: The Unreleased Collection will be released digitally tomorrow, May 12 and will be available to download on Amazon. The album features the songs from the movie including “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Captain Underpants Theme Song, as well as tracks by Andy Grammar, Adam Lambert, Nathan Willett of Cold War Kids and Lul Yachty. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Theodore Shapiro (Ghostbusters, The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, Marley & Me). generation-iron-2Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Generation Iron 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jeff Rona (White Squall, Exit Wounds, Powers, Chicago Hope, Traffic) who also scored the original Generation Iron movie. Also included are two original tracks by rapper Quan. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 12 and will be available to download here. A CD version is scheduled to be released next week and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. Generation Iron 2 is directed by Vlad Yudin and depicts five of the top bodybuilding and fitness megastars on a quest to achieve the ultimate physique and take it to the next extreme level.
