Kooman and Dimond (aka Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond) have been tapped to write original songs for the upcoming Disney Junior series Vampirina. The animated show features the voices of James Van Der Beek, Lauren Graham, Isabella Crovetti Patti LuPone, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Wanda Sykes, Mitchell Whitfield, Jordan Alexa Davis, ViviAnn Yee, Dee Bradley Baker, Benji Risley, Cree Summer and Ian James Corlett. The series is based on the popular children’s book series of the same title and centers around a young vampire girl who is facing the joys and trials of being the new kid in town when her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania. Dexter Story has composed the original music for the upcoming comedy I Do…Until I Don’t. The film is written directed by Lake Bell (In a World…) who also stars in the movie alongside Ed Helms, Dolly Wells, Amber Heard, Wyatt Cenac, Paul Reiser and Mary Steenburgen. The movie follows three couples stuck in the web of a jaded filmmaker who are looking to prove that marriage should be a seven-year contract with an option to renew. Back Lot Music will release a score album for the animated feature Despicable Me 3. The album features the film’s original score composed by Heitor Pereira (The Angry Birds MovieThe SmurfsBeverly Hills Chihuahua) who previously scored the first two movies in the series, as well as the spin-off Minions. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 30, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. As previously reported, Columbia Records will release a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. Despicable Me 3 is 3 is directed by Pierre Coffin, Kyle Balda & Eric Guillon and features the voice talent of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Trey Parker, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Nev Scharrel, Steve Coogan, Jenny Slate and Julie Andrews.  Read the rest of this entry »

Michael Brook is scoring the upcoming drama Stronger. The film is directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple ExpressAll the Real GirlsJoe) and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Tatiana Maslany, Miranda Richardson and Clancy Brown. The movie is based on the New York Times bestseller by Jeff Bauman & Bret Witter and tells the true story of Bauman, the working-class Boston man whose iconic photo from the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing gained worldwide notice. John Pollono wrote the screenplay. Danny Elfman will be returning music as the composer for the upcoming sequel Fifty Shades Freed. The film is directed by James Foley (Glengarry Glenn RossConfidence) who also helmed this year’s Fifty Shades Darker and stars Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Arielle Kebbel, Kim Basinger, Brant Daugherty and Luke Grimes. The movie continues the story from 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey and this year’s Fifty Shades Darker, which Elfman also scored. Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the British mini-series Prime Suspect: Tennison executive produced by Rebecca Eaton, Camilla Campbell & Robert Wulff-Cochrane and starring Stefanie Martini, Sam Reid, Blake Harrison, Jessica Gunning and Alun Armstrong. The show’s original music is composed by Carly Paradis (Line of Duty, True Justice). Prime Suspect 1973 is a based on Lynda La Plante’s Tennison novel is a prequel to the original Prime Suspect series and centers around a 22-year-old Jane at the start of her career in 1970s London. Director Peyton Reed confirmed on Twitter that Christophe Beck will be returning to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, David Dastmalchian and T.I. are reprising their roles from the original film. They are joined by Hannah John-Kamen. Alexander Bornstein is set to compose the music for the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Incoming. The film is directed by Eric “Z” Zaragoza and stars Scott Adkins in the lead role. The movie is set on an International Space Station that now serves as a prison and is taken over by the imprisoned terrorists who are turning it into a missile aimed at Moscow. Jorge Saralegui (producer of Queen of the DamnedShowtime Red Planet) wrote the screenplay based on an original story by himself, as well as the project’s producers Rick Benattar (Shoot ‘Em UpIronclad) and Nigel Thomas (The Numbers Station).
