Premiering tonight is the HBO original series Mrs. Fletcher created by Tom Perrotta and starring Kathryn Hahn, Jackson White, Owen Teague, Katie Kershaw, Domenick Lombardozzi, Cameron Boyce, Jen Richards and Casey Wilson. The show’s original music is composed by Craig Wedren (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, The School of Rock). Premiering on Friday, November 1, is the Netflix original movie American Son directed by Kenny Leon and starring Kerry Washington, Steven Pasquale, Jeremy Jordan and Eugene Lee. Lisbeth Scott (Caroline and Jackie, Tumble Leaf) has composed the film’s original music. The drama, which is based on Christopher Demos-Brown’s play about an interracial couple whose 19-year-old son may have died at the hands of police, premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix. ‘Lara’ Soundtrack Released

Deutsche Grammophon has released a soundtrack album for the German drama Lara. The album features the film’s original score composed by Arash Safaian (with piano solos by Alice Sara Ott) and performed by the German Chamber Orchestra of Berlin, as well as classical pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann. Lara is directed by Jan-Ole Gerster and stars Corinna Harfouch, Tom Schilling, Volkmar Kleinert, André Jung, Rainer Bock, Mala Emde and Gudrun Ritter. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the comedy seqeul Undercover Brother 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57, The Transporter, Romeo Must Die) who previously scored the 2002 original movie. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Undercover Brother 2 is directed by Leslie Small and stars Michael Jai White, Gary Owen, Affion Crockett, Laila Odom, Steven Lee Johnson, Bruce Bruce, Barry Bostwick and Vince Swann. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller Countdown written and directed by Justin Dec and starring Elizabeth Lail, Jordan Calloway, Talitha Bateman, Tichina Arnold, P.J. Byrne and Peter Facinelli. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, The Gift, Enemy, American Gods). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the thriller Black and Blue directed by Deon Taylor and starring Naomie Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Frank Grillo, Mike Colter, Reid Scott, Beau Knapp and Nafessa Williams. Geoff Zanelli (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Disturbia, Christopher Robin) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records/Sony Music have released a soundtrack album for the adventure drama The Great Alaskan Race. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Koutselinis (In Extremis, Decline of an Empire). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music. The Great Alaskan Race is directed by Brian Presley who also stars in the movie, alongside Treat Williams, Brad Leland, Henry Thomas, Bruce Davison, Will Wallace, Brea Bee, Emma Presley and James Russo. Decca Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Discovery docu-series Why We Hate. The album features the show’s original music composed by Laura Karpman (Underground, Paris Can Wait, Step, Black Nativity). Back Lot Music has released the original song Stand Up from the biographical drama Harriet. The song is performed by lead actress Cynthia Erivo who also co-wrote it with Joshuah Brian Campbell. Will Wells & Gabe Fox-Peck have produced the track, which is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon. Also check out the official lyric video after the jump. Harriet is directed by Kasi Lemmons and also stars Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr. and Joe Alwyn. The soundtrack includes the Live! with Murray Franklin theme, instrumental versions of the Dean Kay- & Kelly Gordon-penned That’s Life and the Charlie Chaplin-written Smile, all performed by Ellis Drane and his Jazz Orchestra, as well as Chaim Tenenbaum’s rendition of If You’re Happy and You Know It as featured in the movie. Decca Classics will release a soundtrack album for the Amazon anthology series Modern Love. The album features music from the show’s first season, including the opening title song Setting Sail written and performed by Gary Clark & show creator John Carney (Listen to the track after the jump), as well as songs by Goldfrapp, Regina Spektor, Nerina Pallot, Thomas Dydahl & Lera Lyn, Gaz Coombes & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 25 and will be available to download here.
