Premiering tomorrow, July 27, is the Quibi original series Don’t Look Deeper directed by Catherine Hardwicke ,written by Jeffrey Lieber & Charlie McDonnell and starring Helena Howard, Don Cheadle, Emily Mortimer, Ema Horvath, Jan Luis Castellanos, Kaiwi Lyman and Harvey Zielinski. The show’s original music is composed by Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum (Stockholm, Pennsylvania, Bird Karma, Regarding Susan Sontag). Premiering on Wednesday, July 29, is the HBO Sports documentary The Weight of Gold directed by Brett Rapkin about the mental health challenges that Olympic athletes often face. Simon TaufiQue (Jesus Henry Christ, She’s Lost Control) has composed the film’s original music. Ola Flottum (Force Majeure, Thelma, Louder Than Bombs, Reprise) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Lost Girls and Love Hotels. The film is directed by William Olsson (An American Affair) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Carice van Houten, Misuzu Kanno, Kate Easton and Takehiro Hira. The movie revolves around an American English teacher and her nightly pilgrimages through Tokyo’s glittering nightlife in an attempt to forget her painful past and discover new meaning in the arms of a mysterious man. Daemokon has released a soundtrack album for the Australian sci-fi horror comedy Nekrotronic. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Lira (The Hunter, Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Growing Up Smith, Black Water: Abyss). Visit Amazon to stream/download the soundtrack. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the thriller The Rental directed by Dave Franco and starring Dan Stevens, Alison Brie, Sheila Vand, Jeremy Allen White and Toby Huss. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, The Gift, Enemy, Boy Erased, Martha Marcy May Marlene). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Also opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD next Friday, July 31, is the thriller The Big Ugly written and directed by Scott Wiper and starring Vinnie Jones, Ron Perlman, Malcolm McDowell, Nicholas Braun and Leven Rambin. Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Roots,  11.22.63, Touching the Void) has composed the film’s original music. The film is directed by Lina Roessler and stars Michael Caine, Aubrey Plaza, Scott Speedman and Ellen Wong. The movie revolves around a has-been author who embarks on a wild book tour with a young editor trying to save her father’s boutique publishing house. Anthony Grieco wrote the screenplay. What a Beautiful Day is written by Karey Kirkpatrick & Dan Povenmire, produced by the film’s composer Danny Jacob and performed by Candace (voiced by Ashley Tisdale). Atresmúsica has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish thriller Offering to the Storm (Ofrenda a la tormenta). The album features the film’s original music composed by Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, Hercules, Devil, Crimson Peak, A Monster Calls). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Quartet Records will release a CD version later this month. Offering to the Storm is directed by Fernando Gonzalez Molina and stars Marta Etura, Paco Tous, Pedro Casablanc, Elvira Mínguez, Susi Sánchez and Leonardo Sbaraglia. The movie is the third and final chapter in the Invisible Guardian trilogy and follows Amaia Salazar as she is called in to investigate the death of a still-born baby girl and the arrest of the child’s father. Justin Burnett is returning as the composer for the upcoming romantic drama After We Collided, the sequel to last year’s After. The film is directed by Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions, The Sweetest Thing) and stars Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Dylan Sprouse, Charlie Weber, Candice King, Karimah Westbrook, Rob Estes, Shane Paul McGhie, Samuel Larsen, Dylan Arnold and Khadijha Red. The movie is based on the YA romance novel by Anna Todd who also wrote the sequel’s screenplay with Mario Celaya. Todd is also producing the Voltage Pictures production with Jennifer Gibgot (Tangled, Step Up), Mark Canton (300, Immortals), Courtney Solomon (Cake, Mr. Church), Nicholas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Colossal) and Brian Pitt.
