The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey have been revealed. The album features the songs from the musical performed by Usher feat. Kiana Ledé, Ricky Martin, Marisha Wallace, as well as the movie’s cast. Also included is a score suite by the film’s composer John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf). Harvey Mason Jr. serves as the project’s executive music producer. The soundtrack is being released by Atlantic Records today and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is directed by David E. Talbert and stars Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad, Hugh Bonneville and Madalen Mills. Netflix announced today that Alex Geringas (Woody Woodpecker, Impractical Jokers, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!) is composing the original music for the upcoming animated musical Arlo the Alligator Boy. The film is directed by Ryan Crego and features the voices of Michael J. Woodard, Mary Lambert, Michael “Flea” Balzary, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Brett Gelman, Jonathan Van Ness, Haley Tju, Jennifer Coolidge and Vincent Rodriguez III. The movie tells the story of a wide-eyed boy, who is half human and half alligator, who learns that he is from New York City and decides to leave his sheltered life in the swamp and search for his long lost father. The Guild of Music Supervisors announced today that record producer, composer, and songwriter Quincy Jones will be honored with the Icon Award at next year’s 11th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. The Icon Award was created to celebrate those who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industry. Jones who is the all-time most nominated Grammy artist with a total of 80 Grammy nominations and as received the award 28 times has contributed music to numerous film and TV projects. He won an Emmy Award for his score of the opening episode of Roots, received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and was honored with seven Oscar nominations throughout his career. The film is directed by Eirik Svensson (Harajuku, One Night in Oslo) and stars Jakob Oftebro, Silje Storstein, Eilif Hartwig, Carl Martin Eggesbø, and Michalis Koutsogiannakis. The movie tells the true story of the Jewish Braude family, an ordinary Norwegian working class family who had lived in safety in Oslo before being transported to Auschwitz during World War II. Lars Gudmestad (Jo Nesbø’s Headhunters, Buddy) and Harald Rosenløw-Eeg (The Wave, The King’s Choice) wrote the screenplay based on Marte Michelet’s book The Ultimate Crime.
