Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller The Unholy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Annabelle, Dark Skies, The Curse of La Llorona). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 9 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Unholy is written and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Cricket Brown, William Sadler, Katie Aselton, Diogo Morgado and Cary Elwes. The movie produced by Sam Raimi & Rob Tapert is based on the best-selling novel Shrine by James Herbert and follows a disgraced journalist who discovers a series of divine miracles in a small New England town that has been touched by the apparition of the Virgin Mary and uses them to resurrect his career. Wave Theory Records has announced a remastered edition of the soundtrack album for the 2000 horror drama Shadow of the Vampire directed by E. Elias Merhige and starring John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe (who received an Academy Award nomination for his performance), Cary Elwes, John Aden Gillet, Eddie Izzard, Udo Kier and Catherine McCormack. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dan Jones (On Chesil Beach, Any Human Heart, World on Fire, Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist, Man in an Orange Shirt, My Scientology Movie) and performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The composer also re-recorded two piano solos for the release. The first-ever digital release of the soundtrack will be coming out this Friday, April 9 and is available for pre-order here and will also be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores.

Varèse Sarabande Records has announced a number of new soundtrack LPs on Record Store Day 2021’s newly announced release dates, including a deluxe 3-LP set for the 1999 sci-fi classic The Matrix directed by the Wachowski siblings and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano. The album features the complete score from the film composed and conducted by Don Davis (The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Jurassic Park 3, Bound). The release is pressed on Glitter-Infused Green vinyl, expanded to 44 tracks, and housed in a new art design, and also includes classic film stills and an exclusive new interview with the composer. Rapper/record producer G-Eazy has made his film scoring debut on the upcoming indie horror thriller 18 & Over. The film is directed by Jimmy Giannopolous and stars Ashley Benson, Jon Foster, Jake Weary, Sky Ferreira, Luis Guzman, Duke Nicholson, Winnie Harlow, A$AP Nast, John Robinson, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson. G-Eazy also appears in the pandemic-inspired movie, which takes place when quarantine leads to a night of terror.
