The film is directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Project X) and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman and Walton Goggins. The movie follows a seemingly hapless and unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend is suddenly turned upside down when he finds out that he is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. Lorne Balfe to Score ‘Sommeren ’92’
Lorne Balfe has signed on to score the upcoming sports drama Sommeren ’92. The film is directed by Kasper Barfoed (The Numbers Station, The Candidate) and stars Ulrich Thomsen, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Cyron Melville and Allan Hyde. The movie tells the true story of legendary Danish football manager Richard Møller Nielsen who united his unprepared, mismatched team to win against Germany in the 1992 European Championship finals. Meta Louise Foldager (Melancholia, A Royal Affair, Antichrist) and Nina Bisgaard are producing the project alongside Peopie Films’ Kris Thykier (Kick-Ass, The Debt, Woman in Gold).
David Wingo Scoring David Gordon Green’s ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’
David Wingo is reteaming with director David Gordon Green on the upcoming political comedy drama Our Brand Is Crisis. The film stars Sandra Bullock. Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Scoot McNairy, Zoe Kazan, Ann Dowd, Reynaldo Pacheco, Dominic Flores, Louis Arcella, Octavio Gomez Berrios and Joaquim de Almeida. The movie is based on the 2005 documentary of the same title and follows a group of American consultants who accept the challenge of getting an unpopular Bolivian president re-elected. Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Debt, The Men Who Stare at Goats) wrote the screenplay. George Clooney & Grant Heslov (Argo, Good Night, and Good Luck., The Monuments Men) are producing the project through their Smokehouse Pictures production company.
Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) to Score Scott Cooper’s ‘Black Mass’
Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller Black Mass. The film is directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace) and stars Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, Jesse Plemons, Corey Stoll, Rory Cochrane, Sienna Miller and Adam Scott. The movie tells the true story of Whitey Bulger, the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston, who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his turf. Mark Mallouk and Jez Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow, Fair Game, Get On Up) wrote the screenplay based on the book by Dick Lehr & Gerard O’Neill.
Stephen Warbeck Scoring Maïwenn’s ‘Mon Roi’
Stephen Warbeck has recently composed the music for the upcoming French romantic drama Mon Roi. The film is directed by Maïwenn and stars Vincent Cassel, Emmanuelle Bercot and Louis Garell. The movie follows a woman healing from a passionate but self-destructive love story. Maïwenn is directing the film and also co-wrote the screenplay with Etienne Comar (Of Gods and Men, Haute Cuisine). Alain Attal (Tell No One, The Concert, Little White Lies) is producing the project. Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love, Quills, Billy Elliot) and Maïwenn have previously collaborated on 2011’s Polisse.

Michael Andrews has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Daddy’s Home. The film is directed by Sean Anders & John Morris (Horrible Bosses 2, That’s My Boy, Sex Drive) and stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Hannibal Buress and Paul Scheer. The movie follows a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father arrives. Brian Burns (Entourage, Blue Bloods) wrote the screenplay with revisions by Anders & Morris, Chris Henchy (The Other Guys, The Campaign) & Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) and Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Get Hard).
Sir Peter Maxwell Davies to Score ‘The Great Getaway’
The Telegraph is reporting that Sir Peter Maxwell Davies is set to compose the score for the upcoming historical drama The Great Getaway. The film is directed by Robbie Moffat and will star Peter Mullan and Brendan Gleeson. The movie tells the story of Bonnie Prince Charles aka Charles Edward Stuart, grandson of deposed James II who flew to the Islas after crushing defeat at Culloden. Muffat is also writing the screenplay and Mairi Sutherland is producing the Palm Tree Universal production. The drama will mark Davies’ first film score since 1971’s The Devils directed by Ken Russell and starring Oliver Reed & Vanessa Redgrave.
Mychael Danna to Score Pixar’s ‘Sanjay’s Super Team’
Mychael Danna has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming Pixar animated short Sanjay’s Super Team. The film is directed by animator Sanjay Patel who makes his directorial debut and follows a young Indian boy who is watching cartoons on TV and begins “daydreaming a kind of ancient, Hindu version of “The Avengers,” with the gods appearing like superheroes.” Nicole Paradis Grindle is producing the short, which marks Danna’s first project for Pixar Animation and his second animated film following 2007’s Surf’s Up.
Danny Elfman Scoring ‘Goosebumps’
Director Rob Letterman confirmed in a recent interview with Collider that Danny Elfman is currently scoring the upcoming Goosebumps. The film directed by Letterman (Monsters vs. Aliens, Gulliver’s Travels) stars Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Ryan Lee and Ken Marino. The movie is based on the book series of the same title and follows a teenager who moves to a small town and meets the beautiful girl next door whose mysterious dad is revealed to be R. L. Stine, the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Slayer, Turbo) and Mike White (School of Rock) wrote the screenplay based on a story by Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood, Big Eyes) and Lemke.
‘Vacation’ Reboot to Feature Music by Mark Mothersbaugh
Mark Mothersbaugh has composed the score for the upcoming reboot of Vacation. The comedy is directed by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley and stars Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day, Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins. Chevy Chase and Beverly DAngelo reprise their roles from the classic National Lampoon’s Vacation movies. The movie follows a grown-up Rusty Griswold who surprises his wife and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to Americas “favorite family fun park” Walley World. Goldstein & Daley (screenwriters of Horrible Bosses & Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2) wrote the script based on characters by John Hughes.
