Frederik Wiedmann has been tapped to score the upcoming DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation film Batman: Bad Blood. The film is directed by Jay Oliva and features the voices of Jason O’Mara as Batman, Jay Oliva Stuart Allan as Robin, Sean Maher as Nightwing, James Garrett as Alfred Pennyworth, Morena Baccarin as Talia al Ghul, Yvonne Strahovski as Batwoman, Gaius Charles as Batwing and Ernie Hudson as Lucius Fox. James Tucker is producing the project. The movie serves as a sequel to this year’s Batman vs. Robin, which Wiedmann also scored.

Antonio Pinto to Score ‘Shot Caller’
Antonio Pinto is reteaming with director Ric Roman Waugh on the upcoming thriller Shot Caller. The film stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lake Bell, Jon Bernthal, Benjamin Bratt and Holt McCallany. The movie follows a gangster recently released from prison who is forced to orchestrate a major crime on the streets of Southern California. Waugh has also written the screenplay and is producing the project with Michel Litvak (Whiplash, Nightcrawler, Drive) and Matthew Rhodes (Dark Places, Southland Tales) for Bold Films and Jonathan King (Snitch, The Good Doctor) for Participant Media.
Carter Burwell to Score John Lee Hancock’s ‘The Founder’
Carter Burwell is set to reteam with director John Lee Hancock on the upcoming drama The Founder. The film stars Michael Keaton, Laura Dern, Nick Offerman, Linda Cardellini, John Carroll Lynch, Patrick Wilson, Ric Reitz, Wilbur Fitzgerald and B.J. Novak. The movie tells the story of McDonald’s founder Ray Croc and chronicles how a milkshake dispensers salesman created one of the most powerful brands in the world. Robert D. Siegel (The Wrestler, Turbo) has written the screenplay. Jeremy Renner & Don Handfield (Kill the Messenger) are producing the project with Aaron Snyder (The Prestige, Mud).
Mark Mothersbaugh Scoring Netflix’s ‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday’
Mark Mothersbaugh is scoring the upcoming Netflix original movie Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. The film is directed by John Lee (Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer) and stars Paul Reubens in the title role as Pee-wee Herman, alongside Tara Buck, Joe Manganiello, Jessica Pohl, Stephanie Beatriz and Alia Shawkat. The comedy revolves around a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger who inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday. Reubens has written the screenplay with Paul Rust (Arrested Development) and is also producing the project with Judd Apatow (Trainwreck, Knocked Up, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Funny People).
Alec Puro Scoring ‘Lost in the Pacific’
Alec Puro is composing the music for the upcoming 3D sci-fi adventure thriller Lost in the Pacific. The film is directed by Vincent Zhou (Last Flight) and stars Brandon Routh and Zhang Yuqi. The Chinese production is set in 2020 and follows a group of passengers stranded on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean after their luxury airliner makes an emergency landing who soon learn the island has been overrun with strange mutated creatures. Zhou has also written the screenplay for the movie with Peter Cameron and also serves as a producer on the Arclight Films production.
Matthias Weber to Score ‘Message from the King’
Matthias Weber has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Message from the King. The film is directed by Fabrice Du Welz (Alleluia) and stars Chadwick Boseman, Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, Alfred Molina, Tom Felton and Natalie Martinez. The movie follows a man from South Africa who descends into the Los Angeles underworld in an attempt to avenge his sister and rescue her stepson from the immoral world into which he’s been sold. Oliver Butcher & Stephen Cornwell (Unknown) have written the screenplay.
James Newton Howard to Return for ‘The Huntsman’
James Newton Howard is currently scoring the upcoming fantasy adventure The Huntsman. The film is a prequel/spin-off to the 2012 feature Snow White and the Huntsman and is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan who served as the visual effect supervisor on Rupert Sanders’ original movie and makes his feature directorial debut with the project. Chris Hemsworth returns to star in the title role and is joined by returning cast members Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin and Nick Frost, as well as new additions Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Colin Morgan, Sheridan Smith, Rob Brydon and Alexandra Roach. No plot details have been announced yet.
Anne Dudley Scoring Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Elle’
Anne Dudley is currently recording her score for the upcoming dramatic thriller Elle. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven and stars Isabelle Huppert. Laurent Lafitte, Charles Berling and Anne Consigny. The movie is based on the novel Oh… by Phillippe Dijan and follows a CEO of a gaming software company who is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant. When it appears that her assailant is not finished with her, she decides to stalk him back. David Birke (13 Sins) has written the screenplay. Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion, Maps to the Stars) and Michel Merkt are producing the project.

Lorne Balfe is composing the music for the upcoming comedy War on Everyone. The film is written and directed by John Michael McDonagh (The Guard, Calvary) and stars Michael Peña, Alexander Skarsgård, Theo James, Tessa Thompson, Caleb Landry Jones, Paul Reiser, Stephanie Sigman and David Wilmot. The movie follows two corrupt cops who set out to blackmail and frame every criminal unfortunate enough to cross their path until they intimidate someone who is seemingly more dangerous than they are.
Rachel Portman Scoring Stephen Hopkins’ ‘Race’
Rachel Portman has been tapped to score the upcoming biographical sports drama Race. The film is directed by Stephen Hopkins (The Ghost and the Darkness, Predator 2, Lost in Space, Blown Away) and stars Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, William Hurt and Carice van Houten. The movie tells the true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary sports superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics. Anna Waterhouse & Joe Shrapnel (Frankie & Alex) have written the screenplay.
