David Campbell has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming coming-of-age drama In Search of Fellini. The film is directed by Taron Lexton and stars Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub. The movie follows an Ohio girl who loves movies but dislikes reality who journeys to Italy in search of legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. Nancy Cartwright (best known as the voice of Bart Simpsons of The Simpsons) and Peter Kjenaas have written the screenplay. Lexton and Kjenaas are also producing the project with Monica Padro, Nathan Lorch, Milena Ferreira and Michael Doven (The Squeeze).

Mark Kilian to Score John Pogue’s ‘Brother’s Blood’
Mark Kilian has been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Brother’s Blood. The film is directed by John Pogue (The Quiet Ones, screenwriter of The Skulls & U.S. Marshals) and stars Trey Songz and WWE star R-Truth. The movie follows a recently released convict who begins to take murderous revenge against his childhood friends, whom he believes let him take the fall for a crime they collectively committed. Karl Gajdusek (Oblivion, Last Resort), Michael Finch (Hitman: Agent 47, Predators) and Charles Murray (Sons Of Anarchy) have written the screenplay.
Johnny Klimek to Score Greg McLean’s ‘Jungle’
Johnny Klimek is set to reteam with director Greg McLean on the upcoming psychological thriller Jungle. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young adventurer who travels into the Amazon with two friends and a guide in what turns out to be a dangerous and deadly expedition. Thomas Kretschmann, Alex Russell, Joel Jackson and Yasmin Kassim are co-starring. Justin Monjo has written the screenplay based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir about his trip into the Amazon. McLean is also producing the project with Dana Lustig (Kill Me Later), Gary Hamilton (A Few Best Men) and Mike Gabrawy (The Courier, Reclaim).
Heitor Pereira to Return for ‘Despicable Me 3’
Heitor Pereira will be returning to provide scoring duties on the upcoming animated sequel Despicable Me 3. The film is directed by Kyle Balda (Minion) & Pierre Coffin who helmed the first two installments in the series with Chris Renaud. Eric Guillon is co-directing the film, which is written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio (The Secret Life of Pets, The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who). Steve Carell returns as the voice of Gru, as well as the new character of Gru’s long lost identical twin Drew. Trey Parker has also joined the voice cast. Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy are producing the project for Illumination Entertainment.
Disney’s ‘Inner Workings’ to Feature Music by Ludwig Goransson
Ludwig Goransson has composed the music for Disney’s upcoming animated short Inner Workings. The film is written and directed by Leonardo Matsuda (story artist on Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph) and tells the story of the internal struggle between a man’s pragmatic, logical side and his free-spirited, adventurous half. Sean Lurie is producing the project and Walt Disney Animation/Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter (Toy Story, Cars, A Bug’s Life) is executive producing the short. Inner Workings will be playing in front of Disney Animation’s next feature Moana, which will be released on November 23, 2016.
Junkie XL to Score ‘Justice League’
Producer Deborah Snyder confirmed during a recent press event that Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) will return to score the upcoming superhero movie Justice League. The film is directed by Zack Snyder (300, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen) and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, J. K. Simmons and Amber Heard. The movie follows greatest heroes, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg who are assembled to form the Justice League and to combat a threat beyond each member’s capabilities.
Gabriel Yared to Score Terry George’s ‘The Promise’
Gabriel Yared has been hired to score the upcoming drama The Promise. The film is directed by Terry George (Hotel Rwanda, Reservation Road) and stars Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, James Cromwell and Jean Reno. The movie is set in 1922 amid the final days of the Ottoman Empire and centers on a love triangle in 1922 with a medical student, an American journalist based in Paris and a beautiful and sophisticated woman. George has also written the screenplay with Robin Swicord (Memoirs of a Geisha, Little Women).
Danny Elfman to Score Tate Taylor’s ‘The Girl on the Train’
Danny Elfman is currently scoring the upcoming dramatic thriller The Girl on the Train. The film is directed by Tate Taylor and stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Edgar Ramirez, Lisa Kudrow and Laura Prepon. The movie is based on Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel and follows a woman who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.
Howard Shore to Score Mick Jackson’s ‘Denial’
Howard Shore has signed on to score the upcoming drama Denial. The film is directed by Mick Jackson (The Bodyguard, L.A. Story) and stars Rachel Weisz, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Spall, Andrew Scott, Jack Lowden, Caren Pistorius and Alex Jennings. The movie is based on Deborah E. Lipstadt’s book History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier and tells the story of her legal battle for historical truth against David Irving, who accused her of libel when she declared him a Holocaust denier. David Hare (The Hours, The Reader) has written the screenplay. Gary Foster (Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Sleepless in Seattle) is producing the project with Russ Krasnoff (The Soloist, Emperor).
Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans to Score ‘Rosy’
Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been hired to score the upcoming indie thriller Rosy. The film is directed by Jessica Manafort and stars Nat Wolff, Sky Ferreira and Stacy Martin. The movie follows a lonely guy who kidnaps a struggling actress named Rosy who proves more difficult for him to handle than ever expected. Jonathan Schwartz (Like Crazy, Smashed, Breathe In) is producing the project. Rosy is expected to premiere later this year.
