Benjamin Wallfisch is currently scoring the upcoming supernatural horror thriller A Cure for Wellness. The film is directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Ring) and stars Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, Jason Isaacs and Celia Imrie. The movie follows a man who is sent to rescue his boss from a European wellness spa and soon realizes that he’s trapped and discovers that the facility has a more sinister purpose than just serving the healthy needs of it patients. Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road, The Lone Ranger) has written the screenplay. Verbinski is also producing the project with David Crockett and Arnon Milchan (12 Years a Slave, The Revenant, Gone Girl) for New Regency Pictures.

Giorgio Moroder & Raney Shockne to Score Walter Hill’s ‘Tomboy, a Revenger’s Tale’
Giorgio Moroder and Raney Shockne have been hired to score the upcoming crime thriller Tomboy, a Revenger’s Tale. The film is directed by Walter Hill (48 Hrs., The Warriors, Last Man Standing, Red Heat) and stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub, Anthony LaPaglia and Caitlin Gerard. The movie follows an assassin, who is double crossed by gangsters and finds himself in the hands of a rogue surgeon who turns him into a woman. Hill has also written the screenplay with Denis Hamill (Critical Condition). Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion) is producing the project with Michael Merkt (Maps to the Stars, Elle).
Brian Tyler to Return for ‘Fast 8’
Brian Tyler is set to return as the composer for the upcoming action sequel Fast 8. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Italian Job) and stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Eva Mendes and Kurt Russell who reprise their roles from the previous movies. They are joined by Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood. No plot details have been announced yet. Chris Morgan (Wanted) who scripted the last four installments returns as the screenwriter. Neal Moritz (21/22 Jump Street, I Am Legend, xXx) is producing the project with Diesel.
PT Walkley Scoring ‘Wilde Wedding’
PT Walkley has recently composed the music for the upcoming comedy Wilde Wedding. The film is written and directed by Damian Harris (Gardens of the Night, Mercy) and stars Glenn Close, John Malkovich, Patrick Stewart, Minnie Driver, Noah Emmerich and Peter Facinelli. The movie follows an ex-Hollywood legend who is getting married again at her Long Island estate. Andy Karsch (The Prince of Tides, The Emperor’s Club, Conviction) and Robin O’Hara are producing the project.
John Williams to Score Steven Spielberg’s ‘Indiana Jones 5’
Steven Spielberg mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on the red carpet at last night’s AFI Gala in his honor that John Williams will return to score the fifth, currently untitled Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford will return in the title role. No plot details or other casting announcements have been made yet. Kathleen Kennedy (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park) and Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, The Bourne Trilogy, The Sixth Sense) will produce the project.
John Williams to Score Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ready Player One’
John Williams revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he is set to begin work on Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film adaptation of Ready Player One this coming November. The film will star Tye Sheridan, Oliva Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Win Morisaki, Mark Rylance, Simon Pegg and T.J Miller. The movie is based on the 2011 novel of the same title by Ernest Cline and follows a group of teenagers on a quest for riches in a futuristic virtual world. Spielberg is also producing the project with Donald De Line (The Italian Job, Green Lantern), Kristie Macosko Krieger (Bridge of Spies) and Dan Farah (Armored).
Lorne Balfe to Score ‘The Lego Batman Movie’
Lorne Balfe is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated feature The Lego Batman Movie. The film is directed by Chris McKay (Robot Chicken) and features the voices of Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and Ralph Fiennes. The movie is a spin-off of 2014’s The Lego Movie and follows Batman as he has to drop the lone vigilante thing and work with others in hopes to save Gotham City from Joker’s hostile takeover. Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) has written the screenplay.
Zbigniew Preisner to Score Fernando Trueba’s ‘The Queen of Spain’
Zbigniew Preisner has signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama The Queen of Spain. The film is written and directed by Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque, Chica & Rita) and stars Penelope Cruz, Antonio Resines, Clive Revill, Mandy Patinkin and Cary Elwes. The movie is the sequel to the 1998 feature The Girl of Your Dreams (scored by Antoine Duhamel) and centers on movie star Macarena Granada, who flees the glitz and glamour of Hollywood in 1956 to return to her roots in Madrid, where she has signed on to star in an epic Hollywood film.
Christophe Beck to Score Doug Liman’s ‘Mena’
Christophe Beck is reteaming with director Doug Liman on the upcoming thriller Mena. The film stars Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Jesse Plemons, Caleb Landry Jones, Lola Kirke, Sarah Wright, Jayma Mays, Benito Martinez, E. Roger Mitchell and Alejandro Edda. The movie follows a TWA pilot recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America in the 1980s who finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations. Gary Spinelli (Stash House) has written the screenplay.

Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna have been tapped to score the upcoming drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. The film is directed by Ang Lee and stars Joe Alwyn, Kristen Stewart, Chris Tucker, Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel and Steve Martin. The movie is based on Ben Fountain’s bestselling novel of the same title and follows the 19-year-old private Billy Lynn who, along with his fellow soldiers in Bravo Squad, return home temporarily for a victory tour after surviving an Iraq battle. Jean-Christophe Castelli has written the screenplay.
