Taro Iwashiro Scoring John Woo’s ‘Manhunt’
Taro Iwashiro is reteaming with director John Woo on the upcoming action thriller Manhunt. The film starring Zhang Hanyu, Masaharu Fukuyama, Qi Wei and Ha Jiwon is based on the classic 1970s Japanese feature Kimi yo Fundo no Kawa o Watare and follows an innocent man who sets out to clear his name after his is framed for robbery and rape. Gordon Chan (Painted Skin, he Medaillon) and Chan Hing Kai are producing the project. Iwashiro has previously collaborated with Woo (Face/Off, Broken Arrow, Windtalkers, Mission: Impossible 2) on his last features, Red Cliff and The Crossing.
Michael Brook Scoring ‘My Days of Mercy’
Michael Brook has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama My Days of Mercy. The film is directed by Tali Shalom-Ezer and stars Ellen Page, Kate Mara, Amy Seimetz and Elias Koteas. The movie centers on the daughter of a man on death row falls in love with a woman on the opposing side of her family’s political cause. Joe Barton (iBoy, The Ritual) wrote the screenplay. Christophe Beck to Score Harald Zwart’s ‘The 12th Man’
Christophe Beck is currently scoring the historical drama The 12th Man. The film is directed by Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid, Agent Cody Banks) and stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Thomas Gullestad, Marie Blokhus and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen. The movie is set in northern Norway and chronicles the journey of Jan Baalsrud, who was the only one out of 12 resistance fighters, to escape the Germans following a failed raid at Bardufoss in 1943. Petter Skavlan (Kon-Tiki) wrote the screenplay. Veslemoey Ruud Zwart, Espen Horn (Dead Snow) and Aage Aaberge (Kon-Tiki) are producing the project.

Garth Stevenson is reteaming with director John Curran (The Painted Veil, Stone) on the upcoming historical drama Chappaquiddick. The film stars Jason Clarke, Kate Mara, Ed Helms, Bruce Dern, Jim Gaffigan, Olivia Thirlby, Clancy Brown and Taylor Nichols. The movie examines the infamous 1969 incident when Senator Ted Kennedy accidentally drove off a bridge, resulting in the death of campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechner. Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan wrote the screenplay. Mark Ciardi, Campbell McInnes (The Rookie, Miracle, McFarland, USA) and Chris Cowles (The Vatican Tapes) are producing the project.

The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, While You Were Sleeping, Cool Runnings) and stars Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Jessica McNamee, Ruby Rose and Rainn Wilson. he movie is based on Steve Alten’s novel MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror and centers on an international underwater observation program, led by Chinese scientists, that is under attack by an unknown danger with its deep-sea submersible disabled and trapped at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
Rob Simonsen to Score Neil Burger’s ‘The Upside’
Rob Simonsen has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy drama The Upside. The film is directed by Neil Burger (Limitless, The Illusionist, Divergent) and stars Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart, Nicole Kidman, Julianna Margulies, Aja Naomi King and Golshifteh Farahani. The movie is based on the 2011 French box office hit The Intouchables and centers on the unlikely friendship between a rich quadriplegic and his working-class caregiver. Jon Hartmere wrote the screenplay.
Brie Larson’s ‘Unicorn Store’ to Feature Original Score by Phantom Planet’s Alex Greenwald
Alex Greenwald is making this feature film scoring debut on Brie Larson’s upcoming directorial debut Unicorn Store. The actress also stars in the movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford, Mamoudou Athie, Hamish Linklater, Martha MacIsaac, Karan Soni and Annaleigh Ashford. The movie follows a dreamer reluctant to abandon her childish wonder who is offered something she’s spent her whole life waiting for: her very own unicorn. Samantha McIntyre wrote the screenplay.

Jon Brion has recently composed the original music for the upcoming comedy Lady Bird.
