The film is directed by Sophie Hyde (52 Tuesdays, Animals) and stars Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack. The movie follows a retired school teacher yearning for some adventure, human connection and good sex who devises a plan and hires the services of a young sex worker for a night of bliss. The film is based on the stage play of the same name by Alan Bennett and stars Jennifer Saunders, Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi, Bally Gill, Russell Tovey and David Bradley. The movie is set on a geriatric ward in Yorkshire that is on the verge of closure and and follows the hospital’s attempts to fight back by inviting a news crew to film their preparations for a concert in honor of the place’s most distinguished nurse.

Earlier this month, Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Hotel Mumbai, Adrift, The Old Guard, Stowaway, Ammonite) has been recording his score for the upcoming German Netflix original film All Quiet on the Western Front. The movie is directed by Edward Berger and stars Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, Aaron Hilmer, Moritz Klaus, Edin Hasanovic, Daniel Brühl, Devid Striesow, Andreas Döhler, Adrian Grünewald and Sebastian Hülk. The drama is inspired by Erich Maria Remarque’s 1928 bestseller of the same name and follows three youngsters who voluntarily enlist in the German army and discover the soul-destroying horror of World War I as they arrive on the Western Front.
Nathan Johnson to Return for Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out 2’
Nathan Johnson has confirmed in a recent interview with Film Music Institute that he is returning to score the upcoming sequel Knives Out 2. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Daniel Craig (who reprises his role as Benoit Blanc), as well as new cast members Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline and Jessica Henwick. No plot details have been announced yet. Rian Johnson is also producing the project with Ram Bergman (Don Jon, Self/less).
