Opening wide and also premiering on Peacock today is the romantic comedy Marry Me directed by Kat Coiro and starring Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Maluma, John Bradley, Chloe Coleman, Michelle Buteau and Utkarsh Ambudkar. John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus) has composed the film’s original score. Also opening nationwide today is the action thriller Blacklight co-written and directed by Mark Williams and starring Liam Neeson, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Quinn and Taylor John Smith. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, Miracle, Warrior, The Accountant, Life as a House). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released earlier this month. Also opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD on Tuesday, February 15 is the psychological thriller Here Before written and directed by Stacey Gregg and starring Andrea Riseborough, Jonjo O’Neill, Eileen O’Higgins, Niamh Dornan, Martin McCann and Lewis McAskis. The film’s original music is composed by Adam Janota Bzowski (Saint Maud). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which follows a grieving mother who becomes emotionally affected by the presence of her new neighbors’ young daughter, is being released by Saban Films.
Opening in select theaters while also premiering on Apple TV+ today is the drama The Sky Is Everywhere directed by Josephine Decker and starring Grace Kaufman, Pico Alexander, Jacques Colimon, Cherry Jones and Jason Segel. Another movie opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD is the documentary Ronnie’s directed by Oliver Murray about the life of saxophonist Ronnie Scott, and his journey from poor, Jewish kid in the East End of London to owner of the legendary night club. The film’s original score is composed by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Roots, Queen of Katwe). No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which features performances by jazz greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Jimi Hendrix, Nina Simone,Sarah Vaughn, Van Morrison, Chet Baker & others, premiered at the 2020 DOC NYC Film Festival and is being distributed in the U.S. by Greenwich Entertainment.
