Keegan DeWitt is reuniting with director Robert Greene on the upcoming documentary Bisbee ’17. The film centers on an old mining town on the Arizona-Mexico border that finally reckons with its darkest day: the deportation of 1200 immigrant miners exactly 100 years ago. Douglas Tirola (DRUNK STONED BRILLIANT DEAD: The Story of the National Lampoon), Susan Bedusa (Actress) and Bennett Elliott are producing the project. DeWitt has previously scored Greene’s last directorial effort, Kate Plays Christine, and also composed the music for several movies edited by Greene, including Queen of Earth and Golden Exits. Bisbee ’17 will premiere next month in competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
DeWitt (I’ll See You in My Dreams, The Hero, Divorce) also has Hannah Fidell’s indie comedy The Long Dumb Road and Brett Haley’s Hearts Beat Loud premiering at Sundance. His other recent projects also include the thriller Gemini starring Lola Kirke & Zoe Kravitz, which will be released in 2018 by Neon.
