Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British miniseries Brian and Maggie written by James Graham, directed by Stephen Frears and starring Steve Coogan, Harriet Walter, Paul Clayton, Tom Mothersdale and Ivan Kaye. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Gentleman Jack, TorchwoodDead RingersA Very English Scandal, Moonflower Murders, It’s a SinQuiz). The 2-parter, which follows politician-turned-journalist Brian Walden and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as they sit for one of the most famous political exchanges of all time in 1989, premiered in the UK this past January on Channel 4 and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of Masterpiece.

Also premiering tonight is the PBS Masterpiece series Maigret developed by Patrick Harbinson based on Georges Simenon’s bestselling novels and starring Benjamin Wainwright, Stefanie Martini, Blake Harrison, Kerrie Hayes, Reda Elazouar, Shaniqua Okwok, Rob Kazinsky and Nathalie Armin. Uele Lamore (The Balconettes, The Apology, Above Water) has composed the show’s original music. The crime drama, which follows the Chief Inspecto and his team of maverick but loyal detectives as they solve a series of complex crimes in Paris, will air in the U.S. every Sunday night on PBS.

Premiering on Wednesday, October 8, is the Prime Video original movie Maintenance Required directed by Lacey Uhlemeyer and starring Madelaine Petsch, Jacob Scipio, Madison Bailey, Katy O’Brian,Matteo Lane, Inanna Sarkis and Jim Gaffigan. The film’s original music is composed by Rob Lord (Troop ZeroI Am Duran, How to Date Billy Walsh, Buddy Games: AwakeningSlipstream). The romantic comedy, which follows the fiercely independent owner of an all-female mechanic shop who is forced to reevaluate her future when a flashy corporate competitor moves in across the street, will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video.

Also premiering on Wednesday is the French limited series Néro the Assassin created by Jean-Patrick Benes & Allan Mauduit & Martin Douaire and starring Pio Marmaï, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, Olivier Gourmet, Yann Gael, Alice Isaaz, Camille Razat,  Lili-Rose Carlier Taboury, Max Baissette de Malglaive, David Talbot and Noam Morgensztern. Guillaume Roussel (Black BeautyThe Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan & Milady, Marie Antoinette, 3 Days to Kill, The Spy, Happy!) has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Thursday, October 9 is the Netflix original series Boots created by Andy Parker inspired by Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine and starring Miles Heizer, Max Parker, Vera Farmiga, Angus O’Brien, Liam Oh, Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Nicholas Logan, Dominic Goodman, Kieron Moore, Rico Paris and Blake Burt.
