Tolu Music has released a soundtrack album for the New Zealand drama Tinā. The album features original recordings from St Francis Choir and LEAO recorded for the film, as well as music by the Choir of Western Samoa Teachers’ Training College. Tinā is written and directed by Miki Magasiva and stars Anapela Polataivao, Antonia Robinson, Beulah Koale, Nicole Whippy and Dalip Sondhi. The movie takes place in the wake of the Christchurch earthquake and follows a sassy Samoan mother as she mentors her newly formed school choir to The Big Sing final. The drama opened in New Zealand last month and will be released in Australian theaters on May 2. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
