Composer and multi-media artist Rob Mazurek has provided the original score for the upcoming crime drama The Mastermind. The film is written and directed by Kelly Reichardt (First Cow, Wendy and Lucy) and stars Josh O’Connor, Alana Haim, Hope Davis, John Magaro, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, Amanda Plummer, Eli Gelb and Cole Doman. The movie is set in a sedate corner of Massachusetts around 1970 and follows an unemployed carpenter turned amateur art thief whose life unravels when his first big heist goes haywire. Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani & Vincent Savino (Green Room, Rebel Ridge) are producing the project for filmscience. The Mastermind will premiere this Friday at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and will be released later this year by MUBI.
