Opening in select theaters today is the horror movie In the Earth written and directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Joel Fry, Reece Shearsmith, Ellora Torchia and Hayley Squires. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the drama Monday co-written and directed by Argyris Papadimitropoulos and starring Sebastian Stan, Denise Gough, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos and Dominique Tipper. Alexis Grapsas (Trigonometry, Big Shot, Teacher) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday, April 23. The movie, which tells the story of two Americans in their mid-thirties living in Athens who meet in the heat of summer one whirlwind weekend, is being distributed by IFC Films.

Also opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD next Friday, April 23 is the thriller Trigger Point directed by Brad Turner and starring Barry Pepper, Colm Feore, Laura Vandervoort, Eve Harlow, Jayne Eastwood, Rainbow Sun Francks and Karen Robinson. Andrew Lockington (San Andreas,  Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Frontier, Rampage) and Michael White (V WarsAftermath) have composed the film’s original music. Opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD on Tuesday, April 20 is the action thriller Vanquish co-written and directed by George Gallo and starring Morgan Freeman and Ruby Rose. Aldo Shllaku (The Comeback TrailThe Poison Rose, The Doorman, DownrangeKill ‘Em All) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a mother who is trying to put her dark past as a Russian drug courier behind her, when a retired cop forces her to do his bidding by holding her daughter hostage, is being released by Lionsgate and will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on April 27.

Opening in select U.S. theaters following a VOD release last month is the British action thriller SAS: Red Notice directed by Magnus Martens and starring Sam Heughan, Hannah John-Kamen, Ruby Rose, Tom Wilkinson, Andy Serkis, Tom Hopper and Noel Clarke. The film’s original music is composed by Benji Merrison (DynastiesStrange Magic).  Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score in March. Another movie opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD on April 20 is the action thriller Night of the Sicario directed by Joth Riggs and starring Natasha Henstridge, Manny Perez and Costas Mandylor. David C. Williams (Supernova, The Prophecy, Bedeviled, Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which follows a group of DEA agents who are ambushed by sicarios in a fatal shootout and must play a deadly game of cat and mouse to live through the night, is being released by Saban Films.

Receiving a theatrical release today following its premiere on TUBI last month is the indie coming-of-age drama Beast Beast written and directed by Danny Madden and starring Shirley Chen, Will Madden, Jose Angeles, Courtney Dietz and Daniel Rashid. The film’s original music is composed by the director himself. Robert Allaire (Too LateSome Kind of Hate) has also provided additional music.
