Premiering tonight is the HBO docu-series Allen v. Farrow directed by Kirby Dick & Amy Ziering about the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving his 7-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow. The show’s original music is composed by Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Bad Education, All Day and a Night, See You Yesterday). Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, February 22, is the HBO Europe original series Beartown (Björnstad) created by Anders Weidemann, Antonia Pyk & Linn Gottfridsson based on the Fredrik Backman’s novel of the same title and starring Ulf Stenberg and Aliette Opheim. Johan Testad (The Sandhamn Murders, Inkognito, Drifters) has composed the show’s original music. Music Super Circus has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the series premiered in Scandinavia. Premiering on Tuesday, February 23, is the CW drama Superman & Lois developed by Todd Helbing and starring Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Alexander Garfin, Erik Valdez, Dylan Walsh, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. The show’s original music is composed by Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, The Good Doctor, Beasts of No Nation, Atypical,Wendy). Also premiering on Tuesday is the Netflix documentary Pelé directed by David Tryhorn & Ben Nicholas, executive produced by Kevin Macdonald about the football star’s extraordinary path from breakthrough talent to national hero against the backdrop of a turbulent era in Brazil. Antonio Pinto (City of God, Senna, Nine Days, Amy, Lord of War, McFarland, USA, Self/less) and Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim (The Mechanism) have composed the film’s original music. Premiering on Friday, February 26, is the biographical drama The United States vs. Billie Holiday directed by Lee Daniels and starring Andra Day, Trevante Rhodes, Garrett Hedlund, Natasha Lyonne, Rob Morgan, Miss Lawrence, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Tone Bell and Erik LaRay Harvey. The film’s original score is composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book, Dear White People, Mrs. America, When They See Us). Warner Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie performed by Day (including a couple of original tracks) this past Friday. Also premiering on Friday in the U.S. is the animated feature Bigfoot Family directed by Jeremy Degruson & Ben Stassen (The Wild Life, Fly Me to the Moon 3D) and starring Jules Wojciechowski, Roger Craig Smith and Grant George. The Belgian band Puggy (The Son of Bigfoot) has composed the film’s original music. 22D Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the band’s music last summer when the movie opened in theaters overseas.
