Kubilay Uner (Force of Nature, Big Sur, Gone Are the Days) is currently scoring the upcoming drama Spiked. The film is written and directed by Juan Martinez Vera and stars Aidan Quinn, Wendy Makkena, Walter Belenky, Deirdre Lovejoy, Danay Garcia and Carlos Gomez. The movie is inspired by the real-life events surrounding Arizona based newspaper publisher Joseph Soldwedel and centers on the feud between a newspaper owner and the chief of police that leads to the blurring of the truth when the murder of a migrant worker shakes a southwest border town. Per Melita (Tesla, Experimenter, A Good Marriage) is producing the project. Spiked is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2021.
Uner’s recent projects also include Michael Polish’s Al Pacino-starring drama Axis Sally, which is currently awaiting a release date.
