Partisan Records & Mushroom Music have released a digital single featuring two songs from the comedy Sister Midnight: cover versions of Iggy Pop’s (and The Stooges’) Gimme Danger & Sister Midnight performed by lead singer of the rock band Interpol Paul Banks who also composed the film’s original score. A 7″ vinyl housed in single sleeve will be released on September 5. Sister Midnight is written and directed by Karan Kandhari and stars Radhika Apte, Ashok Pathak, Dev Raaz and Chhaya Kadaam. The movie, which follows the trials and tribulations of a young, newly-married woman who discovers the realities of married life in a Bombay slum, premiered at last year’s Cannes’ Directors Fortnight and is being released in select U.S. theaters today by Magnolia Pictures’ Magnet Releasing.
