Premiering tonight is the new AMC original series NOS4A2 developed by Jami O’Brien based on Joe Hill’s novel and starring Ashleigh Cummings, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Virginia Kull, Jahkara Smith and Zachary Quinto. The show’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Boy Erased, Enemy, The Gift, Ozark, Fear the Walking Dead, Martha Marcy May Marlene). Also premiering tonight is the Epix original series Perpetual Grace, LTD created by Steve Conrad & Bruce Terris and starring Ben Kingsley, Jimmi Simpson, Jackie Weaver, Luis Guzman, Damon Herriman, Chris Conrad, Kurtwood Smith, Terry O’Quinn and Hana Mae Lee. Alex Wurman (March of the Penguins, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Talladega Nights, Hollywood Homicide) is composing the show’s original music. Also premiering tonight is the Lifetime original series American Princess created by Jamie Denbo and starring Georgia Flood, Lucas Neff, Seana Kofoed, Mary Hollis Inboden and Rory O’Malley. The show’s original music is composed by Gwendolyn Sanford & Brandon Jay (Orange Is the New Black, Weeds) & Daniel Brummel. Premiering on Wednesday, June 5, is the fifth season of the Netflix anthology series Black Mirror. The new season features an episode (Smithereens) scored by Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant, The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence). Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday (click here for more information). Another episode (Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too) is scored by Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Vanity Fair, The Split) (click here for more details).

Premiering on Thursday, June 6, is the documentary The Cold Blue directed by Erik Nelson about the Eighth Air Force who flew multiple deadly missions during World War II. Richard Thompson (Grizzly Man) has composed the film’s original music. New West Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Premiering on Friday, June 7, is the Australian sci-fi thriller I Am Mother directed by Grant Sputore and starring Clara Rugaard, Rose Byrne and Hilary Swank. The film’s original music is composed by Antony Partos (Animal Kingdom, The Rover) and Dan Luscombe (Jindabyne, Hounds of Love). The movie follows a teen raised alone by a maternal droid who finds her entire world shaken when she encounters another human. The thriller premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Also premiering on Friday is the revival of Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City developed by Lauren Morelli starring Laura Linney, Olympia Dukakis, Barbara Garrick, Paul Gross, Ellen Page, Murray Bartlett, Charlie Barnett, Josiah Victoria Garcia and May Hong. Jay Wadley (Indignation, The OA, Cruise) has composed the show’s original music. Also premiering on Friday is the third season of Designated Survivor created by David Guggenheim and starring Kiefer Sutherland, Kal Penn, Maggie Q, Adan Canto and Italia Ricci. Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Wormwood, Dynasty, Wormwood, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D) is the new composer of the show (taking over from Sean Callery & Robert Lydecker who scored the previous two seasons). Also premiering on Friday is the XY Chelsea directed by Tim Travers Hawkins about  whistle-blower Chelsea Manning, whose 35-year sentence in a maximum security prison was commuted by President Obama in 2017. Savages front woman Jehnny Beth and Johnny Hostile have composed the film’s original music. Pop Noire has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s score. Also premiering on Friday is the ninth episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. The episode entitled They Come Knocking directed by Adam Mason, written by Shane Van Dyke & Carey Van Dyke and starring Clayne Crawford and Josephine Langford features an original score composed by Jimmy LaValle (The Endless, Spring). Missing from last week’s TV music roundup was the new NBC drama The InBetween created by Moira Kirland and starring Harriet Dyer, Justin Cornwell, Anne-Marie Johnson, Cindy Luna, Chad James Buchanan and Paul Blackthorne.
