Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is Disney’s fantasy drama A Wrinkle in Time directed by Ava DuVernay and starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Storm Reid, Mindy Kaling, Guru Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peňa, Levi Miller, Zach Galifianakis and Chris Pine. The film’s original music is composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of ThronesWestworldPacific RimIron Man). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie by DJ Khaled feat. Demi Lovato, Sade, Sia, Kehlani and Chloe x Halle. Also opening wide is the action comedy Gringo directed by Nash Edgerton and starring Joel Edgerton, David Oyelowo, Amanda Seyfried, Charlize Theron, Yul Vazquez, Thandie Newton and Sharlto Copley. Christophe Beck (Ant-Man, Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover, The Muppets) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack album. Also opening wide is the horror thriller The Strangers: Prey at Night directed by Johannes Roberts and starring Christina Hendricks, Martin Henderson, Bailee Madison and Lewis Pullman.  The film’s original music is composed by Adrian Johnston (Becoming JaneBrideshead RevisitedLassieDancing on the Edge). Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Kim Wilde, Bonnie Tyler, Mental As Anything and Air Supply. Also opening nationwide is the action thriller The Hurricane Heist directed by Rob Cohen and starring Toby Kebbell, Maggie Grace, Ryan Kwanten, Ralph Ineson, Melissa Bolona, Ben Cross and James Cutler. Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman MoviePacific Rim UprisingHomeThe CrownTerminator GenisysGenius) has composed the film’s original music. Opening semi-wide in around 500 theaters is the indie thriller Thoroughbreds  written and directed by Cory Finley and starring Olivia Cooke, Anya Taylor-Joy, Anton Yelchin and Paul Sparks. The film’s original music is composed by Erik Friedlander. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by King Harvest, A Tribe Called Red, Tanya Tagaq, The Sweet Hurt and Tanis. Opening in select U.S. theaters is the comedy The Death of Stalin co-written and directed by Armando Iannucci and starring Adrian McLoughlin, Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, Michael Palin, Jeffrey Tambor, Andrea Riseborough, Paddy Considine and Olga Kurylenko. The film’s original music is composed by Christopher Willis (VeepThe Lion Guard). MKVA has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the movie opened overseas. Also opening in limited release is the thriller Bent written and directed by Bobby Moresco and starring Karl Urban, Sofia Vergara, Grace Byers and Andy Garcia. Zacarías M. de la Riva (AutomataTad the ExplorerHierroBlack Snow) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which follows a shamed and discredited narcotics detective who, upon his release from prison, makes plans to seek revenge on the accuser who framed him and killed his partner, is being released in theaters and on VOD by Lionsgate Premiere.

Also opening in select cities following an awards-qualifying run this past December is the drama The Leisure Seeker directed by Paolo Virzi and starring Helen Mirren, Donald Sutherland, Christian McKay, Janel Moloney, Dana Ivey and Dick Gregory. The film’s original music is composed by Carlo Virzi (Human CapitalThe First Beautiful ThingMy Name Is Tanino). BMG Italy has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix today is the drama The Outsider directed by Martin Zandvliet and starring Jared Leto, Tadanobu Asano and Kippei Shiina. Sune Martin who previously scored Zandvliet’s Academy Award-nominated feature Land of Mine and 2011’s A Funny Man has composed the film’s original music. The movie follows an American soldier imprisoned in postwar Japan who enters the dark world of the yakuza, adopting their way of life in repayment for his freedom. The drama is now available to stream on Netflix.
