Terence Blanchard has been tapped to score the upcoming drama Little Rootie Tootie. The film is written and directed by Dan Algrant (Naked in New York, Greetings From Tim Buckley) and is set to star Christopher Walken and Lenny Kravitz. The movie follows a veteran jazz pianist who is mourning the death of his wife. His son returns home with his own wife, disrupting the couple’s careers as musicians in Europe to deal with his father as his behavior becomes manic and destructive. Algrant is producing the project with Fred Zollo (Mississippi Burning, The Paper) for A to Z Productions, along with River Bend Pictures’ Stan Erdreich and Paul Condoleon for Dalifey Ltd. Blanchard has previously scored Algrant’s 2002 drama People I Know starring Al Pacino. Little Rootie Tootie is set to shoot in January of 2014 in New York City. (via Deadline)
