2024 BAFTA Nominations Announced

bafta1 The British Academy of Film and Television has announced the nominations for the 2024 EE British Academy Film Awards, including the five nominees in the music category. The organization has previously released a shortlist of ten titles last month. Love Theme Music has released a soundtrack EP for the Panamanian/Chilean coming-of-age drama Sister & Sister (Las Hijas). The 4-track EP features the film’s original score composed by Michelle Blades. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list:. Madison Gate Records has released the first soundtrack album for the Pure Flix original series Going Home. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Stephen Phillips, original songs by Nate Merchant & Phillips, as well as the drama’s theme song The Way Home written and performed by Aaron Morgan (listen to the track below). Linda Perry (Luckiest Girl Alive, To Leslie, Citizen PennKid 90) has composed the original score for the upcoming drama Out of My Mind. The film is directed by Amber Sealey (No Man of God) and stars Phoebe-Rae Taylor, Rosemarie DeWitt, Luke Kirby, Courtney Taylor, Michael Chernus and Judith Light. The movie is based on the bestselling novel of the same title by Sharon M. Draper and tells the story of a nonverbal wheelchair user who has cerebral palsy as she is navigating sixth grade. Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s limited series Griselda. The album features the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award and Grammy Award winner Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s GambitGodless, Lessons in Chemistry, HacksChupa, A Walk Among the Tombstones). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 19 (click here to stream/download). A vinyl edition will be coming out next from Diggers Factory and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the composer’s title track below. The show is created by Todd A. Kessler and stars Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior, Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel, as well as Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang and Glenn Close. The 10-part historical drama inspired by true events is set against the World War II Nazi occupation of Paris and centers on the two fashion designers and their contemporaries as they navigated the horrors of  the war and launched modern fashion. Ba Da Bing! will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Flux Gourmet. The album features the music from the film performed by The Sonic Catering Band, as well as other contributors such as Jeremy Barnes, Cavern Of Anti-Matter, Heather Trost of A Hawk And A Hacksaw, Trost’s band Roj and Nurse With Wound. Jessica Jones (Our UniverseRed Rose, Anna Nicole Smith:  You Don’t Know Me, Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story) is the composer of the new Netflix true crime documentary series American Nightmare. The show is directed by Bernadette Higgins & Felicity Morris and unravels the mystery of a young couple’s recounting of a home invasion and abduction that is too far fetched for the police to believe. Music Box Records has announced a new album featuring multiple scores composed by Alexei Aigui (The Truth, The Young Karl Marx, I Am Not Your Negro, Wild Field, Exterminate All the Brutes, Test). Titles included on the CD include the composer’s scores from Aleksandr Kott’s 2022 animated adventure The Adventures of Chuck and Huck, last year’s horror film Domovoy, Sergey Mokritskiy’s 2022 historical drama First Oscar, Yuri Zeltser’s 2017 feature Our Little Secret, Marie Surae’s 2021 drama The Anger, Nurbek Egen’s 2005 comedy drama The Wedding Chest and Nikita Vladimirov’s 2022 sci-fi comedy I’m on Rewind.
