Plaza Major Company will release a soundtrack album for the Chinese drama Mountains May Depart. The album features the film’s original music composed by Yoshihiro Hanno (Millennium Mambo). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 15, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Mountains May Depart is written and directed by Jia Zhangke (A Touch of Sin, Still Life) and stars Dong Zijian, Liang Jingdong, Sylvia Chang, Zhang Yi and Zhao Tao. The episodic movie centers around the life of Tao, and those close to her and is explored in three different time periods: 1999, 2014, and 2025. The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and was picked up by Kino Lorber for a domestic release on February 12, 2016.
